OJT EATS | Kapara

This week, we're at Kapara for a quick and simple weekend brunch. It's in the small newish development that also houses Milk Beach. We got there at 11am on a Saturday and the place was very quiet - as in we were the only ones in the restaurant quiet. While that's normally not the best sign, we decided to stick with it and started ordering.

This was on the menu as a "mini mess". It was described as a blackened aubergine with tahini, oregano, pomegranate molasses and lychee. This was pretty tasty with the aubergine and the tahini. The lychees added a nice touch of refreshing sweetness. There was a vinagraitte on it that was a little too strong for our liking but other than that, it was nice.

This dish was called the "Breakfast ribs and rice". We'll be the first to admit, this wasn't quite what we were expecting but it did smell good. The egg wasn't quite as runny as we like it but it was still jammy rather than solid but we did think the rib was a little on the small side. It tasted nice; the rice in particular did have a nice crunch to it but we couldn't help but feel a little disappointed with this one. With a name like Breakfast ribs and rice, it set up our expectations a little too high.

This was the Hummus Breakfast. It was a pretty big plate of food. There was hummus (obviously), pulled lamb, aubergine, that boiled egg you can see, all served with those 2 fluffy pittas at the top of the photo. The pittas were up there with some of the best in London a s the hummus was good but just lacked a little something to make it into the top tier of London hummus.

We didn’t eat much this meal but it was all pretty tasty and we enjoyed it. We were a little concerned by the lack of other customers but luckily that wasn’t a reflection on the quality of the food. However, to be brutally honest, nothing really wowed us either. It was a solid brunch but ultimately a little forgettable.

Ha Magyarországra gondolok, azért leszek depi, mert minden területen csak az egyre halmozódó feladat és munkamennyiseget látom amiben az elmúlt 10+ évben nem hogy előrelepes, de leépules történt csak, az oktatástól az egészségügyig. És ehhez jött egy kb. ugyan ekkora megoldhatatlannak tűnő feladat tömeg amit a klimavaltozas okoz és ugyan úgy égető probléma, minden nappal amíg nem csinálunk semmit sem, közelebb az elkerülhetetlen. Egyik ilyen hihetetlen sok földmunkat igénylő részfeladat atalakitani a folyók mentén az artereket, hogy megfogjuk az árvizeket és tároljuk. Ez persze rengeteg család életét fogja borítani, akik jelenleg az arteruleten élnek, komplett falvak és akár városokat kell attelepiteni, a gazdaságok radikális átalakításáról nem is beszélve. Új technológiák és új gépek, erre átképzés, megannyi feladat. Szerencse a szerencsétlenségben, hogy erős, kétharmados kormányzás van, akik napokon belül képesek új törvényi hátteret és szabályzást létrehozni. A családok védeleme az első náluk, és nemzeti elkötelezettséguket már számtalanszor bizonyították, gondolok itt az egészségügy és az oktatás erős kezű megreformalasara, amibe korábbi kormányok rendre elbuktak. Az akugyárak hazánkba telepítésével a környezetünk megvedeserol is tanúbizonyságot tettek, nem beszélve arról hogy evvel a vízgazdalkodas tudományokban elért magas kompetenciajukrol is. Menni fog ez, csak akarni kell, aki nem akarja az nem is.. De ezt már tudjuk, be sem kell fejezni a mondatot. Az 56-ról alkotott történelmi kép megváltoztatása is ebbe a nagyívű kormányzati koncepcióba illeszkedik. Az új, Horthyista nemesség és vitézsegi rend újraalkotasanak célja az emberi erőforrások megteremtese ehhez a hatalmas munkához. Megtörtent a kaszting. A nyertes családok kitelepitesevel biztonsitott lesz az élő munkaerő is. A családok eddig tartalékoltak, így az elkövetkezo hét szűk esztendőben az adófizetőknek semmibe sem fog kerülni a munkájuk, amúgy is, mint eddig, a haza mindenek előtt! A lojalitásnál ugyan semmi sem fontosabb, de szakmai irányultság azért nem hátrány, mint például rokon szakmai gyakorlat, például kertészeti ismeretek.
