Felt like drawing one of my longest held OCs, Teya Emara, from Paving the Way. A little more practice with the new inking method, plus I just don't draw the poor girl enough.
The name of "chirans" I got for Teya's species was given to me by an old forum mate from years and years ago. I only realized later that they likely got it from kirin.
However, Chirans used to be a species made up of a random assortment of furries, not equines (can you smell the influence 2Kinds had on me as a kid?). So Chiran = kirin only came to be, after I remade the species into equines following the end of MLP.
But as I developed the species more, I decided to expand them beyond being simply equine, taking cues from both the Kirins from MLP and the mythological Kirin. Now, there are other ethnicities of Chiran that resemble other hooved creatures.
Bunaylo - goat
Kalaylo - deer
Kapaylo - horse
All do have scales that express across their body, mainly over their snout, under their eyes, and along the jaw.
