Kara Danvers Appreciation Week Day 4 : Favourite Danvers sisters moment

So many good moments but this is hands down my favourite Danvers sisters moment but I love all their scenes, you don’t get to see a sisterhood so real on many shows.  These two have such a realistic sibling bond with the comforting, sibling banter, the brutally honest fights and moments when Alex goes overly protective den mother even though Kara is a superpowered alien. The last bit is the most relatable since I’m an overly protective elder sister too. There are so many shows about unshakable fraternal bond between brothers, this beautiful relationship between Danvers sisters is one of the biggest reasons why I love Supergirl so much.

Rules of Kara Danvers appreciation week

- the most important rule THIS IS NOT ABOUT ANY SHIP DO NOT BRING A SHIP INTO THE WEEK - this is about Kara only Kara and her character - no hate, do not I repeat do not hate on anyone who participates in this week, this is not about a ship or the ship wars it is about coming together to appreciate Kara - avoids using any ship in the week no ships ( although sanvers is allowed as it contributes to Alex and Kara's dynamic) - do make sure to spread the word - focus on Kara ( this fandom has focused on ships rather than her) - love share only love with this week - if you do not like a character just ignore it do not start a fight - no moments that bash another ship - NO SHIPS NONE NOTTA - there is no free day for a reason - have fun please just enjoy it Kara Danvers week is 23-29th of July

Kara Danvers Appreciation Week Day 7: Most Heroic Moment

Alex : Once you're in space, there's no atmosphere. There's no gravity. You wouldn't be able to generate thrust, you wouldn't be able to breathe, you wouldn't be able to get back.

Kara : I was sent to protect Earth and that's what I'm gonna do.

When Kara flew Fort Rozz into space to protect Earth from Myriad, she was prepared to die a slow and painful death, being suffocated in space to ensure that Earth doesn’t share the same fate as Krypton, not on her watch.  If Alex wasn’t quick on her feet to get her pod up and running in the nick of time, Kara would have died saving the world.  She was prepared to sacrifice her life and it wasn’t even a decision she struggled with. Her goodbye call to Alex was so damn beautiful and this has been her most epic heroic moment on the show in my opinion.

Kara Danvers Appreciation Week Day 1 : Favourite Super moment

The ultimate Supes showdown and Kara becoming the champion of earth is hands down my favourite super moment. A lot of people had a hard time digesting that Supergirl is stronger than Superman and that is why I have DC canon facts and their science to prove it. There are three important things to consider: 

1. Photonucleic effect : (http://superman.wikia.com/wiki/Photonucleic_Effect) When explaining how Kryptonians get Superpowers in the yellow sun, DC came up with Photonucleic effect . Essentially, it outlines the difference between lifeforms created under the red sun and the yellow sun. The most interesting fact being, even if two genetically identical twins were born under the Red Sun, if one of them grew up at their home planet and the other grew up on a Yellow sun planet like Earth, then the one that grew up under the red star will be stronger when they enter the yellow star system and get powers. Kara lived on Krypton for twelve years and developed under the Red Sun. Kal-El on the other hand was a baby when he came to Earth so Kara is essentially stronger here on Earth.

2. Birthing Matrix vs fastest sperm : Kara was bioengineered in the birthing matrix to be the best possible outcome from her parents’ genetic material. Kal-El was conceived naturally in the old fashioned, fastest sperm that day way.

3. Designed to be his bodyguard : The birthing matrix often shaped how people would turn out to be in their life. In some canon, Kara was supposed to serve as his bodyguard once the two of them leave Krypton the day it is destroyed so she was made to be the stronger of the two.

So Superman fans can say that he was roofied by Silver Kryptonite all they want but Supergirl is definitely stronger and that showdown was epic.
