constantly going back and forth over what happens to Dorian immediately post-Amias
like-- he killed people for Ravanna, just because he defected back to the good guys doesn't erase the blood on his hands
so Option A is that at some point when the dust has settled, he has to stand trial for Necromancy again; he gets banished for some amount of time and goes travelling with Killian, or is told he has to do community service, or something
but on the other hand, Option B-- what if no one knows it was him? sure people might suspect, Cairo and Sorrice would for sure, but in the end he helped defeat Amias and enough lives have been lost. something something denied the catharsis of punishment, and instead Dorian has to live with the guilt of what he's done in the name of power and love, but he can never tell anyone because then his happy ending comes crumbling down around him
(for the record, canon lies between these 2 scenarios on the spectrum of how the event could have turned out, but I think it's fun to ponder the alternate timelines given Dorian's *gestures vaguely* everything with time magic)
