the west side story thing is 100% true. she was basically moaning about not being cast in a role that was written for a latina person. a direct quote from her was, “i learned spanish for the role!” so i guess that’s why she’s considered problematic now

someone just sent me a private ask about this too and how did nobody tell me she did this????  i just googled it and all the articles are from like six days ago!! did this anon just find this out and assume i was born knowin when it looks like lea literally just opened up about this last week!! lmao???? this happened before glee and i don’t have context for whether or not she acknowledged it was bad for her to be mad about it but....it’s shady that she was like “i even learned spanish!”. like......okay but ur not latinx
