It might have been four in the morning, and he had been woken up from a deep slumber by Itachi’s phone call, but after hearing what his friend had to say, it would be impossible for him to fall back asleep. Waver hadn’t even been given a chance to speak before the all had ended, the silence greeting him after a few beeps to let him know Itachi had hung up. “Shit...” There was no way he was going to let their conversation end like that. Throwing back the sheets, he stumbled out of bed and moved toward the door, uncaring if anyone saw his bedhead and slept in pajamas. It was four in the morning for fucks sake. If anyone wanted to judge him, he was going to judge their sense of rationality for willingly being awake at such an ungodly hour.
Wandering barefoot into the hall, he rested his forehead to Itachi’s door and knocked. It had only been a few minutes since their phone conversation, so he didn’t expect the other to already be asleep. He couldn’t speak for everyone else on their floor, but he tried to knock as quietly as possible to be considerate. “Itachi... Open the damn door,” he called out softly, sleep still heavy in his voice, “I’m not going to leave until you do.”
