Last night I went to a birthday party full of strangers with the exception of this happy couple: Birthday boy @kravmagachef a.k.a. @flowkravmaga and his girlfriend @jones_shamie. This was possibly one of the more stressing trips to #brooklyn I've taken this year with the rickety scheduling and overall shitshow of NYC's subway system. At the same time, said transit system worried me about arriving too late, so much so that I left out and realized three blocks away that I forgot the gift I was going to give him. I doubled back and retrieved it and ultimately took a chance with a cab ride that cost a little less than I thought it would. Taking the i-495 and i-678 routes from Queens to Brooklyn (I think those were it), I caught a night time view of the Manhattan skyline I hadn't seen in a LONG time...only I couldn't take a picture of it because I was too busy holding my phone steady so Google maps could navigate my driver. 😣 Landed where I ne to, handed Paul his gift (a secret for now), and put smiles on his face for hours in addition to talking movies, as well as his own work-in-progress concepts. The alcohol was great and his dog, #Makoto, is a sweetheart of a pitbull ❤ ...and Paul even gave me something in return - will be sure to take a pic of it as soon as I can. All in all, it was another good night in Brooklyn... Some folks didn't show up to the party though.
