different anon and GOD i agree, i need matt to do a lot of pining. while i see what the writers did so far i won't just settle for matt getting with karen because she's cool about him being daredevil. i need him to actively prove he loves her and she's no second choice, otherwise he can be forever alone™ as far i'm concerned lol

Unless S3 starts after a very loooong time jump, I won’t buy it if Karen’s all “Daredevil? Cool!” Based on how Matt’s treated Karen (and his friends in general), her giving him a free pass just like that wouldn’t make no sense to me.

So I’m totally with you, nonnie. I need Matt actively trying and showing that she’s important to him and trying to make amends (though knowing what a martyr he is, it’s likely that he’ll just sit around and pine, looking like a beaten up puppy).

Do you think that in the third season of daredevil we will get Matt pining and being all intense about his feelings for Karen like comic book Matt ?

Oh, nonnie, I hope so. GOD, I HOPE SO. I’m a sucker for angst, so Matt pining is definitely huge yes in my book.

He’s been treating Karen (and his friends) awfully in S2, so I feel like in S3 we’ll find Matt in a position where he feels like he needs to try and fix his relationships with people he cares about. Even though he came clean to Karen about his secret life that does not (or least I think it would/should not) erase the pain his secrecy put her through and give him a free pass for that. So I feel like he’ll be the one reaching out and trying to regain her trust and reconcile (and hopefully go further). But while we might see him angsting a bit (that probably depends the most on when in terms of timeline the S3 starts - immediately after or will there be a time-jump), it probably won’t be too excessive. 

That said, Karen, herself, has a few skeletons in her closet, so I’m also really curious how that would come into play. I’d love to see her sharing her secret(s) with Matt but we’ll have to wait and see.

If Matt is going to be on the defenders does that mean the third season of daredevil won't pick up were it left off are they really going to make us wait until 2018 to see how Karen reacts to him being daredevil ?

It’s anyone’s guess at this point, nonnie. I think we’d have Luke Cage and Iron Fist first, for sure, and then The Defenders. Rosenberg (showrunner of Jessica Jones) talked that it’s probably unlikely we’d see JJ’s S2 before The Defenders, so that could apply to Daredevil’s S3. So if we end up getting Daredevil’s S3 (fingers crossed but there are still no news on that front yet) after The Defenders (2017, according to IMDB), chances are it’ll come in ~2018.

That said, it would be really stupid to end the season with a cliffhanger like that, and then start a new one with time-jump. Or worse, transfer the reaction to the reveal to The Defenders - I mean, someone watching Daredevil does not necessarily mean they’ll watch The Defenders as well (they will, most likely but Daredevil is still a standalone piece). So this is pure speculation but it’s most likely we have to brace ourselves for the wait, and will try to keep you posted if we hear anything.

I don't feel like karen would willingly expose matts/dd identity except for they go down the drug road? Idk what are your thoughts?

Hi, nonnie. We’ve got some questions about it here, here, here, and here.

But yeah, I don’t see Karen selling out/exposing Matt’s identity either unless the people she cares deeply about are in literal life and death situation. Though considering how smart and resourceful she is, I think she’d find a way out of it either way.

As for drugs - someone else suggested that they might twist her comics storyline a bit and actually turn that into an aspect of her past. Which I think definitely makes more sense in the context of the show (not necessarily the drug thing but I take it that show!Karen has a darker past than comics!Karen). So that’s my two cents. - Ru

I've been looking for news on Daredevil season 3 status and several articles predict season 3 may be the last season - if that's the case, how will that affect karedevil's relationship trajectory? There's also an article saying The Defenders may come before season 3, how will that look for karedevil or will Karen not be in that at all? I'm interested to hear your thoughts.

I feel like if it did happen to be the last season, they wouldn’t know until they were in the process of filming, so I don’t think they would do anything to rush it. I think they’d continue on the path they want the relationship to take. As of now though, we don’t know what it is. Whether they’re going to have Karen be Daredevil’s sidekick throughout the season and then once again break them up is still up for debate.

If they happen to do The Defenders before, I feel like Karen wouldn’t be involved or she might get mentioned every once in awhile by Matt. It’s just tough because they ended DD on a sort of cliffhanger and if they do this show first then we’re still left with what happened? How did Karen react? That’s why I don’t think she’d be involved in the show at all. To at least keep that suspense going.

Do you think the showrunners will take the "drug-addicted-pornstar" route for Karen in the future seasons? As much as I sound like a hater for saying (which I'm not. I'm one of her biggest fans) I wouldn't mind if they did that. That would mean more depth for Karen and Karedevil. That storyline would give Karedevil a much-needed angst and it would also give Karen a chance to grow from all of her tragedies. Because in the comics she does get out of the addiction and becomes a new person.

I sort of answered another ask about this, but I believe that if they did go down that route, then she would become much more independent and a different, better person because of it.

There was a lot of backlash concerning the comics though because that entire storyline was written by the original creator who didn’t seem to care for Karen as a character at all. It wasn’t until they brought in a new writer who completely rewrote Karen as that “new person” you’re talking about.

First, i just want to say that your blog is just amazing! So beautiful and you're so mature when it comes to the ship thing, you don't attack other characters you just celebrate karedevil and that's all, i really appreciate that. Second of all, i just want to know how do you feel about the possibility of Bullseye joining season 3, i mean... in the comics he kills Karen, are you worried about that ? Because i surely am. Has there been talk of Bullseye joining in s3? I’m hoping that that won’t happen for awhile. Maybe in like 2 seasons because there’s still A LOT of Karen’s story that needs to be told. They’ve been building up her backstory these past 2 seasons & she actually has a very interesting one that has yet to come to light! 

Not to mention we still have to see her & Daredevil work together for awhile & then some more bad stuff happens that hopefully will be written out. Fingers crossed. I don’t think they’d do the killing part in s3. I feel like that’s too soon? Or is that just me?

I think so. They’ll probably skip the break in the breakup & go straight into her being Daredevil’s sidekick.
