Asubuhi ya leo nili-experience nguvu kunitoka as nilikuwa na wakati mzuri ku-share nikijuacho na my brother in Christ Moses. And he had to bless the 📷 with these Sixteens. #255CHH #BrotherlyTalk #KaribuTena #WaNURU🐝 (at University of Arusha)

After an extended time working overseas, what a lovely welcome gift. The dogs are going to platz too #kaributena #finallyhome #whyilovekenyans #malindi #malindi365 #whywelovemalindi #whyilovekenya #photooftheday #igkenya #inspirationaldestinations #instafollow #l4l (at Malindi, Kenya)
I spent a month last summer traveling between Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania on assignment with Mama Hope, a San Francisco-based non-profit organization, to document their work in various communities throughout the region.
These are the pictures I made for myself during that time.

James picked us up at 10:30 and we drove over to St Timothy's school in Moshi. Most of the students weren't there because they're on holiday, but a bunch were still working on regional exams. I spent time talking to some of the P7 boys about football, the World Cup, life in the US, Nigeria, the Ukraine (?), and other stuff. These kids are incredibly bright and so much fun to hang with.

Spent the morning in Maai Mahiu photographing a group of community kids cleaning up their neighborhood, then we stopped by Cafe Ubuntu for lunch. I watched the Maasai cattle herders out front for a while, then we went to the primary school nearby to check out their vegetable garden.

Landed in Nairobi and went straight to the hotel to drop off gear, then we walked over to Java for food. Downtown Nairobi is fascinating (more SF than Lagos), wish I wasn't feeling so sick or I would've explored a bit. Hopefully on the way back from Tanzania.
Went back to the hotel and took a nap, which made a huge difference, sore throat is now a cold which I think is a good sign. Woke up around 5 to work on some selects, then met up with the girls for dinner at the restaurant downstairs. Took a nyquil afterwards and crashed hard, bus across the border leaves at 7:30am.
