Little Ruki can get Corso to do ANYTHING for her and she figures that out pretty quick when he starts traveling with Arawen and Ruki. Like Arawen asks Corso to babysit one time, and Ruki convinces him that she always has two cookies and some milk before bed. Corso believes her because it does not occur to him that 5 year olds lie. I mean, he figures it out when Arawen comes back, he proudly tells her that Ruki got to bed on time and had her bedtime cookies, and Arawen starts laughing. 

Bless him, he tries, but he does not know kids very much at first. Then becomes best stepdad ever later on.

There’s moments when Karuki Bryn, adorable, sweet, precious, wouldn’t-hurt-a-fly Jedi, shows her colors as a smuggler’s kid by spurting out the foulest Huttese cuss words in the galaxy while she’s squished herself into the tightest parts of engine with a multi-tool held between her teeth.

Vaatina was the Jedi who brought Karuki into the Order and now I’ve decided she chose Karuki as her Padawan when she was old enough. Now off to write some Master-Padawan hijinks.

Faction Swap!AU for the Bryn Riggs kids?

-Imogene in the Imperial Military. She struggles up the ranks, clawing for promotions that people with richer families and better connections reach with ease, but her tenacity and commitment to duty make her nearly ideal for what the Empire asks of her.

-Zeva kind of falls through the cracks of the Empire: not particularly motivated in school, definitely not military material, eventually he slips into the less legal side of things. Still some smuggling, a half-assed attempt at bounty hunting. But he’s too soft-hearted for most of it.

-Karuki. Hoo boy. It’s the Sith Academy for her, without even an option to decline from her or her mother. Like her brother, she’s too soft for the Sith lifestyle and what’s being demanded of her- Korriban was nearly her end, other acolytes making her out to be an easy target, but she did what she had to just to make it out of there. After that, she finds an apprenticeship with a Sith who’d rather just have her doing research than any fighting, and it suits Ruki just fine.

-Imogene ends up on Pehani’s crew, and they butt heads, hard. Imogene doesn’t want to be there- Intelligence is like a brick to her military career, with even a mention of working for Intelligence spooking her record, and Pehani doesn’t see the use in a lunkheaded soldier mucking her missions up.

-Also Zeva/Torian may be a thing in this AU mwahahaha

What if Karuki hadn't joined the Jedi Order and had stayed with Corso and Arawen?

She’d stay the Co-First Mate of the Lost Girl(She grudgingly agreed to share the position with Corso) and become an excellent pilot and mechanic in her own right. When she grows up, she probably takes up some freelance piloting jobs on her own or sticks to being the mechanic for the old freighter when it’s in semi-retirement on Dantooine.

(Also AU idea she comes onto Syl’s ship as his pilot and the two immediately have massive crushes on each other???)

Karuki shot Doc down at literally every turn as far as I can remember and he STILL asked her to marry him. Wtf. Why. @starrypawz

I can see Karuki being that little kid who thinks she’s wise to the ways of the galaxy and seeing herself as on pace with grown ups. Like Arawen is trying to very gently explain to her that Mommy and Corso are gonna be a couple now, and he’s sleeping in her bedroom, and that means Karuki has to knock before she comes in. And Ruki just rolls her eyes and goes “Yeah, I know why, mom. Because you might be kissing Corso with his shirt off and that kind of icky stuff.”
