It took me 3 different tutorials and an inordinate amount of time to draw a side-angle that looked half-okay.

I would love to do cover art for all my fics, even the ones I don’t write anymore. But it would be so much work.

Hi, while reading the comments on Chapter 43 of Toxic Love Games, someone asked you how the story would unfold if it were set in an omegaverse.

How do you think things would have played out if they were in that universe with Gakushuu as an omega and Karma as an alpha?

Given how pronounced the hierarchy is in that universe, Gakuho would have yet another reason to torment him (and surely feel disappointed when Gakushuu turns out to be an omega instead of an alpha).

So full disclosure, I have read omeagaverse fics before and I kind of know the lore, but I’m not the most well-versed, so I’ll try answer as best as I can, but apologies in advance if I get something wrong about omeagaverse 😅

I think if the story was set in the Omeagaverse and Gakushuu was an Omega it would change massively

Gakushuu would probably have a huge complex about it, and may even try and hide his type, maybe pretend to be a Beta or an Alpha. Or else he’d over compensate to prove he’s not weak just because he’s an omega

Early in the relationship in the fic, Karma views Gakushuu as someone he can’t ’really’ hurt and that influences a lot of their dynamic. So to keep the same dynamic, Gakushuu would have to be hiding his status as an omega (or else Karma would be more protective of him from the start). So that would probably be a plot point/dramatic reveal lol.

As for the Chairman, that’s a bit more complicated to think about. In the fic, part of the reason he has such strong vitriol towards Gakushuu is that he can’t help but see all their similarities and view his son as an embodiment of all the things he hates about himself.

If Gakuhou was an Alpha and Gakushuu was an omega the relationship would still be toxic AF but he would not identify as strongly with his son and would be able to distance himself emotionally from Gakushuu. 

Their relationship would be even colder than the original fic, but the Chairman would not be as intense and emotionally driven in his torment of Gakushuu. Their relationship would be one of control and distance. The Chairman would be a lot stricter with Omega Gakushuu and view him kind of like a possession to show off or a pet to train up, but not fully as a person. Gakuhou would probably have this Gakushuu’s life planned out and maybe even have an arranged marriage partner in mind for him. 

It’s similar to how I would imagine the Gakuhou of this fic might treat a daughter rather than a son. It would probably leave Gakushuu with even more of an inferiority complex tbh, because he knows his father views him as innately lesser. 

Other plot point options is that Gakushuu has suppressed his phermones(?) so well even the Chairman doesn’t know he’s an omega.  Another idea (and forgive me, idk enough about the omega verse biology to know if this is possible ) is the Chairman is also an omega who foists all his own self hatred onto Gakushuu and expects him to live and life as repressed and hidden as he has. In this plot, Gakuhou has spent his whole life hiding he is an omega and expects Gakushuu to do the same. Tbh this dynamic would probably be the most similar to the original fic but intensified x10, because not only is Gakuhou taking out all his internal self hatred on his son, he also lives in a society that gives him more reasons to hate himself/view himself as lesser. This dynamic would be full of vitriol but also crazy enmeshed. This Gakuhou would have even more batshit moments and would be even more insane about Gakushuu having a relationship with Karma.

The other option for an omegaverse fic is have Gakushuu and Karma as an Alpha/Alpha pairing, but I know that’s not really the question.
