I was scratching her back. apparently I hit the spot.
I don’t post here as much as I used to, but with the ending of Trigun Stargaze, I wanted to say something.
SUE ME, I ENJOYED TRIGAZE!! All the negativity surrounding the finale and the season as a whole has been really tiring. Maybe I’m biased because my introduction to Trigun was Stampede, but I genuinely don’t think Stargaze was as bad as some people are saying it was. It had its flaws, true, but overall it was good. I liked that it had a happy ending where (mostly) everyone gets to live and explore a new tomorrow. It may not be totally accurate to the manga or 98 anime, but I like that this new adaptation ends on a hopeful note. The world needs that right now.
I’m happy Wolfwood lived. I’m happy the entire gang sticks together and gets to explore the universe. I’m happy Vash finds happiness, even without Knives.
Knives’s sacrifice is contentious, but I like how it was handled. Other people can probably word why that is better than I can at the moment, but it fit (plus some friends and I are already making fun headcanons about him basically being baby Groot in that flowerpot Vash had).
Stargaze was good. It could have benefited from lasting longer and being more fleshed out, but it was good.
