Sooooo I went to a con this past Saturday and I’ve been continuing working on my Belle dress. It’s not 100% yet (still gotta fine tune a lot of things and gotta finish all the motifs along the skirts), but it’s fairly close to done and I’m so proud of it. Also fun fact: they had Jedi training at the con, so I got to live my life dream of being a Disney princess and a Jedi AT THE SAME TIME WHOO HOO

Soooo I'm really proud of my Katara cosplay that I made all by myself (and it's the first costume I've ever made by hand)! Also I found some fellow Water Tribe friends, although I'm disappointed I didn't see an Aang or Zuko.

with the sword done i just have to make those armsocks and sew up these trouser socks to make my tabi and i'm ready for con. debating on if i should bring narcissa along since i couldn't find a dress or a skirt but imma check mom's closet to see if she has a skirt i could modify for it. oh and two wings still need to be styled but that's simple shit to get done.

finally finally finished molding this goddamn sword now i'm waiting for the oven to heat up so i can bake it, then i just have to smooth it, paint it, and apply the hair and bell tassel and its doneeeee

cosplay progress check up tiems

kusuriuri - been working on and off on the new set of arm socks. no piccus tonight because i can’t be arsed to hahaha. anyway-- i’m making progress on them and that’s all that matters. i haven’t really worked on the exorcising sword in a while, i need to smooth out the clay and fine-tune the deets still, then bake and paint it. my bamboo umbrella got here a while ago so i just need to paint on the details for that as well. and i just decided i want to have a folding fan to tuck in my obi since its going to be hot as balls to begin with and that’s a thing that’s typical in that era so yeah now i need to either buy and paint one or make one myself. i’ll have to wait until thursday after work to do that since i only have enough in my bank account rn to afford a pack of cigs and a few bottled drinks for the next few days.after all this i just have to procure tabi, leg wraps, and geta and kusuriuri will officially be completed. debating on trying to make my own geta though, since every where i’ve looked online is like 50$+ because i have such big feet, and none of them have the extra height that his do so. idk yet. oh and i ordered some body paint for him since i went through my makeup bag the other day and i had thought i had a really pale body paint from when i order my elf ears a few years back but they were actually neutral pale and soft bronze. so that’s on its way and it will match the arm socks really well too so heckie yeah.

rin okumura - one of these fucking days i will stop being a lazy bitch and finish rin’s tail head because honestly that is the only thing left for him to finish. the blue fire clips i planned on are completely optional and i haven’t really found the right material for them yet either. i’ll still be on the lookout but it’s not a make it or break it prop. it is what it is. i’m not even concerned too much about the boots tbh. i just want to get the tail done sob sob damn my procrastinating ways.

narcissa malfoy - and narcissa’s wig is currently sitting on my dresser judging me harshly for not touching her in like a month b-but i’m just not in the mood to tackle the finishing touches yet. and her clothes have yet to be bought either but but i will start side-eying stores. i mean i’ve been planning narcissa for a while anyhow so i already have the wand and slytherin tie for her school outfit it’s just a matter of getting a pleated skirt and a jumper. the dress i’m pretty certain i can just closet cosplay from my mom’s closet if i can’t find anything i like at a store, mom has a lot of vintage shit. i’m not in a huge hurry for her.

marco bodt - tbh i haven’t even started on marco yet. but also i plan on doing swimwear anyway so i just gotta get some board shorts and a tank and put the trainee logo on dem shorts anyway. also maybe a hawaiian shirt because marco is enough of a nerd to wear it. and then just gotta get a wig bc i don’t like the one i used last year its pretty shitty like it worked well enough for a last minute fix but i really would rather a new one. also like i want to do a proper full uniform marco one day eventually but i’m not going to stress myself by trying and pull that one off for colossalcon. it’s bad enough i already have three other characters with one of them having two costume changes. jfc i’m really ambitious this year what the shit.

also in other news i had my front brakes replaced finally but it turns out that its my back brakes that needed it. its no biggie really they would have needed it anyway regardless but now i need to pick those up on thursday as well. yay. but my new windshield wipers are on point so i can actually see out the window when its raining now hallelujah. now i’m just on the prowl for a replacement door still which i’m pretty sure i will be looking for until i’m on my damn death bed tbh. but when i finally do my ride will no longer be affectionately known as redneck rocker. soon, bb, soon...
