Thank goodness for the mile minimum some days!!
Amen! It's great to think that all I really have to do is just run a mile and if I'm feeling alright, I can run a little more.

That works for me! I'm sure I can find a suitable elf hat!
runningwithcrohns and emilydoesscience, does that work for you guys?

Name her something classic, if you’re fav player got traded it might be tough. Like when we named our dog Briere after Danny.
Oh damn it that's smart. Like how I made a bunch of my passwords involving the word "Boychuk" and now every time I type them I get sad :(

Hehe on the middle left one. You look good in most of them! I think Lorelie and I took some just as good ones too. You definitely want to commemorate your marathon with a picture though.
I'm a sucker for race photos, so of course, I bought the digital download package. The photos you and Lorelie took turned out pretty well, though!

I want them all as fridge magnets
Be careful what you wish for. I made fridge magnets last year for a fundraiser...

It took me a few tries to get a good marathon time and to get under 1:45 for the half. Lots of opportunity for things to go wrong. It was good seeing you!
I'm not going to lie: I actually did not see you next to Lorelie until Matt called out my name and I took a second look at who else was there. Tunnel vision, I guess? But I definitely saw you two the second time!

Your experience really mirrors mine in a lot of ways: I was so on point for the first 30-35k until cramps hit and I had to walk off and on from miles 20-26 But congrats on the PR!!! OORAH!
That wall sure knew how to hit us hard. Congrats on your finish, too! #Oorah!

Every marathon I've finished has left me with the feeling of never wanting to run one ever again, but it usually only lasts a day or two. You made a really good effort, but I can see why you feel like going down a distance.
Before, during, and after the race, I told myself this will be my second and last marathon. I even thought about announcing my official retirement from the 26.2 mile distance. Then, I woke up yesterday morning and thought, "Hm, maybe it won't be my last marathon..."

I'm so glad you toughed it out to finish! :) Congratulations on the PR! I hope you re-find the joy of running in racing the shorter distances :D I think it's sad that a lot of people tend to view the marathon as the end-all distance
Yes, I can't wait until my shorter races where I can start feeling relatively speedy again!

Man, you got this up fast. Congrats on a significant PR! Nobody said you have to run marathons. Enjoy what you like about running. The marathon will be there whenever you want to try again (if ever).
This was probably one of the most encouraging things said to me after the race. If you run, you're a runner. You don't have to run marathons to prove that. However, I know when the 40th Marine Corps Marathon comes around next year, I'll probably be a little jealous of everyone running it but I'll also not miss all of those hours on my feet. If (or when?) I return to the marathon, I told myself that I'll never run the same marathon twice, given how much of an accomplishment it is. So, some of the marathons that I'd consider doing in the future include Big Sur (because views), Chicago (because flat), New York City (because huge), and Boston (because it's Boston [Lord knows I'm not BQing, so I'd have to get in with a charity]).

Downhills are tougher than they would seem. Quad killers.
That's true, one of my most painful races finished on a major descent.
