"No. I'm ok. You don't have to babysit me."
@katesgotabow said "Yeah yeah yeah, I missed you too, dumbass."
“Aww you love me, that’s cute.” He winked as he teased, “yeah yeah don’t get all mushy though, missed you too.”
@katesgotabow sent a fire message: ❝ Oh sweet Jesus, I’m not coherent enough for that. ❞
"I don't think we have much of a choice." He'd given her as much time as he thought they could afford and now they really needed to get moving. It didn't matter to him that she wasn't exactly coherent. They couldn't stay there much longer. Not if they wanted to avoid the group that apparently felt the need to hunt them both. Though, something told him they weren't after him; they were after the other. Ever since their paths crossed trouble seemed to crop up more times than not. And he seemed to be right in the middle of it each and every time. Jace normally didn't mind the trouble that tended to happen. This time, though, they were smack in the middle and they couldn't just sit there and wait for someone from the Institute. He just needed to get that through to her. "Unless you want to find out how painful death from a demon can be."
"Really, Clint?" (what is it about idek man) - @katesgotabow
He can’t hear her, and for a moment he considers just pretending he had. The tone clear in Kate’s body language, the way she gets a look in her eyes. It’s not unwarranted, which is what makes it worse. Sending his stomach from hangover upset to guilty bubbling.
(What’s done was done, there wasn’t any use dwelling on it he told himself over and over and over. Yet here he was, doing just that, because what the fuck was wrong with him? Left to question himself the next morning, falling easier and easier into old patterns.
Pathetic.
Weird how he heard that in his dad’s voice even after all these years.)
Glancing to his phone on the counter - dead, charger not even plugged in - and the cans covering the island, he sighs. Hand limp as he waves off the concern. Turning to dig through a drawer. Had he used that spare battery already?
“Wanna get breakfast since you’re here now? Thinking burritos.”
incoming transmission from: @katesgotabow message sent: "Just look at all the pretty lights!"
"Bishop, that's — we need to leave." They may have been pretty lights but they weren't the sort that they should stick around to watch. His instincts were telling him that those lights were the start of trouble and the type of trouble that would require more than just the two of them. He didn't know where the others were or if he could get ahold of them in time. If not, he knew that they'd have to deal with this on their own. But he'd give anything to have some of the others there to help him. Especially since Steve knew they weren't fireworks or lights from planes or something else entirely. He couldn't blame Bishop for thinking they were pretty. If he'd had more of his innocence he might think the same thing. But war changed him and he knew that it was better to think the worst. "They're pretty but they're not the sort of pretty you want to find out what they can do."

EDDIE'S NOT SURPRISED —— after all, even within a world full of superheroes, playing host to an ALIEN is high up on the list of the strange. It also doesn't mean he doesn't dread questions anytime they come up.
Venom is a disgruntled murmur deep in his chest. [ 𝚃𝙷𝙴𝚈 𝙰𝙻𝚆𝙰𝚈𝚂 𝙷𝙰𝚅𝙴 𝚀𝚄𝙴𝚂𝚃𝙸𝙾𝙽𝚂. ]
" Yeah, well —— " his response is a murmur, low, watching her move about the room, attention ticking inward. " Kinda the human condition, buddy. Curiosity. "

Eddie's mouth skews just a little, and —— it's a good point, really, if not one that'd end them in a whole lot worse mess than questions. He drags a hand over his face, and —— jesus. He lets his hands drop, splaying open in wide invitation as he sighs. " Yeah, so —— ask away, I guess. "
@katesgotabow said “healthy relationships with fathers? sounds fake.”
Tony tilted his head to the side, both he and Kate watching as Kamala Khan spoke over the phone to her father, assuring him that she was alright and would be home before dark. Then Kamala handed the phone to Tony. “Abu wants to speak to you,” she said, a little sheepish. Tony took the phone, assuring the man that, yes, he was supervising this ‘field trip’--i.e., Avenging--and yes, he would make sure Kamala remembered to eat. Once he’d handed the phone back, Kamala went into the other room to keep talking, and Tony turned back to Kate.
“Apparently it happens,” he said. But it was rarer than any super power they’d yet to encounter. Whether it was the old heroes or the new, very few Avengers knew anything about healthy parental relationships. “But why have fathers when you can have cake?” He pointed to the kitchen. “We’ve got more leftovers than we have fridges, so grab a fork, Kid. This is top priority hero stuff.”

“Well, Eli and Tommy are idiots to pass on you. I think you’re the coolest, most awesome person i know and everyone would be lucky to have you as a snack.”
