People aren't just angry at Katie because of the soft drink drama, their angry at her because she's rude, condescending and to be honest just plain mean, Lisa's the same. The way Katie acts like she's the queen bee and is pretty nasty to the house guests, especially Skye annoys everyone.
I hear what you’re saying, but i guess i just really haven’t seen it that way.
I’m still 1 episode behind so i’ll reserve my total judgement, but i will say that katie was being pretty extra with the whole “YOU NEED TO LOWER YOUR VOICE” thing with Skye—it was clear skye wasn’t raising her voice in anger or aggressiveness etc, she was just upset and frustrated at (herself and) the situation. so katie could have definitely dialed back the assertive tough girl thing for sure.
BUT on the other hand, i’m not going to join in on the bandwagon and just accept the narrative of katie being a rude bitch when, to me, it just looks like she’s firm and sure of herself. I see the same qualities in Sam and he doesn’t anywhere near as much hate as Katie.
Yeah I think she’s slipped up with the Skye situation, but just because Skye is my and everyone else on tumblr’s queen, doesn’t mean i’m going to automatically hate someone who makes her shed a couple tears--she was crying because she did something she regretted, then reacted with a 'loud' voice and THEN katie went in. She’s only 20 & housemates have commented on her immaturity (i’m not completely behind this, but we only see ~1 hour a day), so I don’t think it’s very hard to make her cry.
I don’t know, the way Katie clearly and firmly addresses problems just sticks out to me (not backing down from scary Sam, dealing with Travis etc). She of course left the confrontation with Skye and Cat to tell Lisa all about it after she said she wouldn’t — it’s big brother, of course she’s going to repeat it, so she shouldn’t have made that promise. But other than that and being a bit too full on with Skye, I really don’t see anything she’s done that wrong.
P.S. also the whole scene of Lawson just bagging on her for 10 minutes really irked me. i feel like i’m too sensitive to this, but i just feel like he and most other people are going in for her when some of the guys have the same/worse qualities. it’s like, i’m just tired after bb16 and 15 etc, where basically where most women are picked off at the beginning of the season, especially ones who stand up for themselves and have something to say. and then we’re left with boring ass bullshit boys club like lawson and sam jumping around in their seats like jackasses. I’m OVER IT.
Okay I’m on the first commercial break in on the stolen soft drink episode and after seeing all the Katie hate the past 2 days I’m really confused??? Like big whoop she took a soft drink for herself when there was 1 for each HG? And tell me any one of youses wouldn’t be irked by someone going through your stuff. This better not be some misogynistic pro-Travis strong-willed-woman-hating bullshit, y’all are really testing me
Maybe it's just good editing but Cat has such an admiring level of maturity. It's really highlighted by the BAT-SHIT CRAZINESS of Lisa and Katie.
