Enola Holmes (1&2) is such a cute movie!!! They’re like classic little who-don-it movies that are sweet and witty!

Not to mention Millie Bobby Brown is amazing in it and Henry Cavill is very very cute as a big brother

I finished the ACOTAR series FINALLY and now I’m upset that I don’t have the next book to read of it cause it’s not even out 😭

Ahhh I just finished a court of mist and fury and DAMN was I sobbing so hard I couldn’t even read the book 😅 there were too many tears

Y’ALL!! I finished ACOTAR and UGH such a good book. I know it’s so main stream but damn the anticipation that it gave me I haven’t felt since I was reading Percy Jackson at 13. SOOOOO good. Can’t wait to read the next book wooooo 😆

Teacher anon here. I live in Germany and we have no bachelor's or master's program for teachers. We have to take 2 state exams. One at the end of university and the second one after the 2 years of teacher training... (to be continued)

(Part 2) but there’s a petition to change that, so when we pass our first state exam we also get a bachelor’s degree. My main subject is English, so I’m always looking for English children’s books, do you have any recommendations? :)

In Florida we take three state exams during our bachelor’s program for our teacher’s certification in elementary education. But say I eventually want to teach middle school social studies; all I will have to do is pass the social studies education test and I’ll be able to teach higher grades.

Picture Books:

Finding Winnie: The True Story of the World’s Most Famous Bear by Lindsay Mattick. This is the story of the real Winnie the Pooh and how the A.A. Milne stories came to be.

The Day the Crayons Quit AND The Day the Crayons Came Home (two separate books) by the same author Drew Daywalt. These books are HILARIOUS. In the Day the Crayons Quit a boy’s crayons write him letters about how they feel about him and that they quit. In The Day the Crayons Came Home, some of the crayons write letters saying they want to come back.

The Pete the Cat series by Eric Litwin. Pete the Cat is very groovy and for some reason kids LOVE him. There are also versions of the books you can buy that come with songs for the book.

The Fancy Nancy series by Jane O’Connor and Robin Preiss Glasser. This is another series that kids especially girls just love. 

Chrysanthemum by Kevin Henkes. Chrysanthemum is bullied for her name. Her classmates tell her that if they had a name like her’s they would change it. 

Click Clack Moo Cows That Type by Doreen Cronin. Cows make demands to their farmer by typing letters on an old typewriter. They will not produce milk until he gives into the demands of the cows and other farm animals. Note: This book was so successful that the author wrote more books like it.

There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A Bell by Lucille Colandro. This book is great for its repetition. Note: there are other “There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed A…” books that are just as great, I just can’t remember if they are by the same author or not.

Chapter Books/Novels:

The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate. This book is told through the perspective of Ivan a Silver back Gorilla living in a shopping mall. This book follows his promise to a dying elephant named Stella that he would get Ruby (a baby elephant that was just brought to the mall) to the zoo for a better life. Note: out of all the children’s novels I’ve read this is one of my favorites, if not my favorite.

Crenshaw by Katherine Applegate. Crenshaw (a large imaginary cat) comes into Jackson’s life to help him after his family falls on hard times. Jackson and his family are homeless, they live in their minivan. 

One Crazy Summer by Rita Williams Garcia. Three young girls travel to Oakland CA in 1968 to find the mother that abandoned them. This book has won the Scott O’Dell Award for historical fiction and the Coretta Scott King Award for Non-Violent Social Change among other awards.

Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White. Words in Charlotte’s web tell her feelings for a pig named Wilbur and the feelings of a little girl named Fern as well. Wilbur is some pig and this book is simply a classic.

Because of Winn-Dixie by Kate DiCamillo. Ten year old Opal adopts a dog that she meets in a Winn-Dixie (grocery store) and names it after the store (it’s the first thing she came up with on the spot). With some help from Winn-Dixie, Opal and her father realize that even though they’ve had a bit of melancholy in their lives, they still have so much to be thankful for.

The Who Is/Who Was/Where is/What is series by various authors. These books are great. These are historical biographies of various people, places, and events. Examples: “What Was Pearl Harbor?” “Where is Niagara Falls?” “Who is Malala Yousafzai?” “Who was Anne Frank?” “Who was Walt Disney?” “Who was Steve Irwin?” There are over 100 books in this series. These chapter books also have illustrations in them.

The Perfect Letter By Chris Harrison

Hey friends!

I recently read the Perfect Letter by Chris Harrison in an early reads opportunity. The book comes out on May 19th and you should all put it on your to read list. Here’s my review:

I won this book in a first reads giveaway. I was a little worried that this book wasn't going to be good. I'm a big fan of the Bachelor and Chris Harrison, so I knew I would have to give him a shot. I'm always a little weary when someone that is famous writes a book, but I was pleasantly surprised in what Chris Harrison wrote. It wasn't anything like the Bachelor or about the Bachelor. It was a sweet romantic story about a young couple who share a dark secret. They are separated for ten years before reuniting when she returns to Texas for the first time. It's a great story about ever lasting love and what we do for those we love. I would recommend it to anyone! It had a Sweet Home Alabama feel to it so fans of that should definitely look into reading it!
