“Why would I want to do that !” I threw my hands up in frustration as Harry , my ideas manager , presented me another album concept . Every idea he had felt recycled , like someone had done it before , in fact loads of people had probably done it before .
“It is just a suggestion , Patrick . I can try and find something else but it’s not as bad as you think it is.” He countered , trying his very hardest to convince me on this idea .
Weeks after the discussion they lured me into this concept , the ideal love boy songs with a hint of “yearning” in them . It was the same as everyone but I made sure to tweak my songs so I could have them produced with my personality shining through them .
The other day they had done a photoshoot for the album covers , Harry was once again in charge of it and he had got the photography team to take many of pictures but he had decided it would be a good idea to just choose the cover himself .
That’s why i’m not sat staring at the picture infront of me in confusion . It might have been the dullest picture from the photoshoot . There was no personality at all , it was just my bored face .
“I hate it.” I told him bluntly . “I want to see the other ones.”
“Patrick it’s the best one we got . I love it , honestly it’s great.”
“I’m sure you think that , I still want to see the others.”
He rolled his eyes at me and set down a handful of pictures on the table , all different angles and outfits for different “aesthetics” Harry told me .
I was looking over them for five minutes before he spoke again .
“See? The one we picked is the best.”
“It certainly isn’t , the lot of these are much better.”
“Then what one would you like?” He told me with resentment , I could hear it laced in his words that he was fed up with me .
“I like that one.” I heard the little voice behind me say , Katie . My fiancée had came along with me today , she came along to most meetings but was often too shy to say anything .
My head immediately snapped to her , nearly grinning at the sound of her voice.
“Which one , baby? What one do you think?” I asked her , I was basically begging her to speak again , as I gently tugged on her hand to drag her over to the table beside me .
She shyly pointed towards a picture of me against a dark red background , the had me holding my guitar . Basic I know but I was willing to listen to my girl tell me why she liked it .
She shrugged , her pale cheeks flushed a pretty shade of pink as she shifted on her feet .
When I started at the picture more I noticed exactly why she liked it . It was my necklace .
Usually when I had these photoshoots then made me take off all my jewelry but for some reason they hadn’t notice me wearing my necklace in this one .
It was a dainty silver one with a K on it that Katie had bought me years ago . She was so nervous to give it to me because she thought I would hate it and think it was too feminine but the second she gave it to me I put it on and rarely took it off .
“I want this one.” I held up the picture to Harry.
“That one? Really?” His eyebrows furrowed in confusion as he looked at me then at the picture then at me again .
“Yes . This one , you heard Katie . It’s the nicest one.”
Harry just let out a pissed off huffed and snatched the picture from my hands , leaving the room to go and finalise it I assumed .
“Did you actually like it or was it just because I picked it?” I heard Katie ask from beside me .
“No , Well I mean you made me like it more but I liked it before too . You just finalised the idea in my head.” I told her , my hand reaching to play with a bit of her red hair , the sun shining through the window to light it up .
She smiled up at me , her fidgety hands playing in front of her , “Did you see it?”
“The necklace? Yeah , kitty . I saw it , means everyone else who sees it will also see your initial on me.”
She nearly beamed at my words , her cheeks flushing even darker , I don’t even know you could blush that much .
“Patrick ! Hurry up , come sign these !” I heard harry shout from outside the door .
I huffed , kissing my fiancées cheek before leaving the room to go sign the papers.
