Let it snow
Kiara vividly remember the last time she had seen those blonde locks and those soul piercing blue eyes.
It had been exactly 1 year and 4 months (and a few days, but who's counting really).
She had successfully avoided going back to the Outer Banks last year with the excuse that it was high tourist season in Ecuador and she needed to be there for work.
This year however, Sarah had threatened to fly to Ecuador herself and drag her back even if it meant breaking international laws. She had planned the perfect Christmas getaway for the Pogues as a way to celebrate finally being able to access the gold. Kiara was convinced there were some ulterior motives for this vacation and as soon as she saw who was waiting for her at La Guardia, she knew she was right.
Instead of her blonde best friend, there he was. JJ Maybank. Clearly also expecting someone else considering his surprised face.
"Kie?"
"Hmmm yeah, hi Jay. you drive here with Sarah?". Kiara asked although she already knew the answer.
"No? Sarah asked me to pick up Wheezie to drive her to the Skii resort. I'm gonna take a wild guess here and say she's probably not hiding behind you, is she?"
"Nope"
"Ah, I see. Well, it seems like we are the victims of yet another Cameron sisters master plan"
"It seems so." she replied while mentally cursing both Cameron sisters.
"Well, everyone left for the resort already so better to get on the road. There's a few snow storm warning and the last thing we want is to be trapped somewhere, right?" JJ said trying to fill in the awkward silence that seemed to hang over them.
"Right, yeah. Better get going" Kie replied trying to erase the unease from her voice.
I mean, she just had to survive the next 4 hours in a car with JJ and then she could kill Sarah and celebrate a Pogue Christmas. How hard could it be, right?"
