Katt Valentine’s day Headcanons
in honor of day 5 of Katt Week, by @chaos-theory07. It’s late, but I don’t care anymore
Kristy likes the usual gifts: chocolates, flowers, teddy bears and even simple homemade cards
Matt was nervous when he walks up to Kristy and gives her a card, a small teddy bear and flowers. When she opens the card, it says, “Will you be my Valentine?”. Matt was shaking, as he feared that she would not like the gift, but Kristy hugs him and says yes!
In college, Matt learned that Kristy likes poetry, so he decides to write a poem for her. It was the first time he's written an actual poem, so he was not really skillful, but it's the thought that counts
Kristy likes to make homemade sweets for Matt. She’d give him a box of homemade cookies that she made and she smiled when he takes a bite and enjoys it. She would then continue on the tradition each Valentine’s day, with different sweets like cupcakes, cinnamon rolls and even homemade chocolates. Bonus: She still does it now with help from the kids, luckily Matt was able to share some of the treats to his teammates
Matt and Kristy would write letters to each other while Matt is away in the military. They'd keep keep each letter they got, and still kept
One of their first dates was at a carnival. The two played games, ate various junkfood from cotton candy to caramel apples and corn dogs, rode on the ferris wheel and Matt won a stuffed animal for Kristy
Matt and Kristy would light up a wish lantern together, It was the most romantic thing they have ever done
before leaving to the army, Matt gives Kristy a locket as a reminder of him, even putting the necklace on for her. She kept wearing it until he got back
Valentine’s day post-kids consists of the usual dressing up and going out while the kids are at their grandparents’ place. Sometimes when things don’t work out (a la Matt and his job) there’s always having the date at home, a lovely dinner and watching rom com movies
