“K” and Sabriel were unaware of each other’s existence until Katziah was ten or eleven and Donavin rescued him from being mauled by his mother’s dogs. He required extensive medical care for years after that and at first would not even speak to his new family. Luckily, he and Sabriel and Hale share an affinity for some of the same videogames, and were able to bond a little over that. His relationships with others are guarded; in some ways he finds it easiest to talk about himself to strangers. Unlike Sabriel, he has memories of their mother, but some have been altered or dimmed by trauma. He rarely talks about her.
