न्हात जमुना मैं जलजात एक दैख्यौ जात
जाको अध-उरध अधिक मुरझायौ है ।
कहै रतनाकर उमहि गहि स्याम ताहि
बस-बासना सों नैंकु नासिका लगायो हैं ॥
त्यौं हीं कछु घूमि झूमि बेसुध भये कै हाय
पाय परे उखरि उभाय मुख छायौ है ।
पाए घरी द्वैक मैं जगाइ ल्याइ ऊधौ तीर
राधा-नाम कीर जब औचक सुनायौ है ॥

Bathing in the Yamuna one sees a waterborne
Someone who is drooping above and below.
Says Ratnakar emerges Shyam there
Like a captivating fragrance hitting the nostrils.
There he wanders sways without wit he laments
Falls to his feet his face is shadowed.
Uddhav finds him on the riverbank at hour one or two
When (he) suddenly calls out Radha's name.
