I was very indifferent about birds until I got my 1st budgie from my grandparents in 2021. Just watching him bounce/hop/run around his cage and hearing his lil feets tippity tapping and hearing him tweeting and chattering almost all the time was (and still is) just kind of mesmerising. Then I got him a friend, another budgie. And then last year I got my baby (the one from the pic). She had no tail when I got her so she looked like a lil chicken. Her name is Nugget.

I'm sorry it took me a bit to answer this. As you can see, I am currently spiralling over Hoshi.

Anyways.

Nugget 🥺🥹 That's so fucking cute. I will say, I think I don't hate budgies as much as most birds. They're pretty cute for the most part, and I had a friend who had one too, and his was really well-behaved.

This whole year has been particularly shit for me but this lil chicken is doing a pretty excellent job of keeping me together.

Me since 2022 lmao but, hey, we keep trying to keep our heads above water. I'm going to be super honest, I hate birds but, your bird is very cute so, they get a pass.

I feel ya. I get a solid 3hrs of sleep at a time, and the fun part is that if I sleep for any more than like 1.5hrs my brain refuses to think of it as 'not enough' and will not let me go back to sleep for another 2-3hrs. So my nights are essentially 3hrs sleep, 2hrs awake, rinse and repeat a couple times. 👍👍

that sounds terrible im so sorry :( hav u figured out something close to a solution? i know there r a lot of ways to sort of promote restful sleep but i havent had the willpower to try them (like the ones about turning of ur device 2h before sleep... like as if that's gna happen) or they dont really work (not a meditation girl) or idw become reliant on melatonin...

for me i get rlly bad sleep paralysis so some nights i cant rlly fall asleep correctly... i didnt halljucinate yesterday so that's an achievement tho! jsut ur regular not being able to breathe etc etc so comparatively better to handle...
