(it is worth note that about two years ago I was heavily pursuing a career in music, and thanks to my parents' connections I was pretty far along, but I didn't like the direction things were going [cough pop cough], so I just basically quit)
OKAY SO the owner of the art gallery where i work claims that a year ago these three "traveling missionaries" came through our shop and they predicted that she would have really good sales and fortune for the rest of the quarter. well she did and for some reason she suspected angels? so she did some research and evidently there have been lots, and prior to them the "witnesses" found feathers (also the rooms get warmer, etc). She says that she had earlier that day found three feathers that matched the skin color of the three people, and so ever since we've sort of had this running joke that angels come to our studio. Nobody really took it seriously, but ever since she's been really spiritual.
So Monday she had a shaman come in and sage and bless the place, to help draw in good karma or whatever.
My boss apparently had a similar encounter yesterday that she told me about today when I got to work; she found a hot pink feather (not unusual-- we are also a working studio) and maybe an hour or so later this guy with hot pink hair came in and after looking around for a few minutes bought three $500+ pieces. Not unheard of, but certainly unusual.
BUT OKAY HERE IS WHERE THINGS REALLY GOT WEIRD FOR ME. I was cleaning up the desk b/c someone had misplaced some really important filework that I was trying to put in the system, and in doing so I found a glue covered white feather. I thought it was just collateral damage from the kids' class earlier that morning, so I threw it away. Then maybe two hours later, this Colonel Sanders look-a-like walks in and after like fifteen minutes of browsing the gallery he purchases two of our more expensive jewelry pieces (the total ended up being like $220 or something I don't remember). While I was ringing him up, he's all, "So you're a musician?" and I was like "Uhhhh yeah" and he was like "And you're wondering how I could tell" and I was like "Uhhhhh yeah" and he just says "You were blessed with long fingers". And at this point I'm like "????? can I just finish ringing this up it's hard to figure out sales tax and talk at the same time" (which I didn't say of course but that was my sentiment). So I finish ringing him up and start putting his stuff in a bag (he had asked for it to be gift wrapped) he takes my hands (AND HIS HANDS WERE LIKE STICKY WHAT THE HELL) and says "You hold a lot of self doubt, but know that you've got a lot of really important things to do. Don't stop where you are." And so at this point I'm just like "hahah thanks um" and I was really flustered. And then he said "Your music means more than you think it does" and he left.
So I grab the bag and go out onto the street to give it to him, but you wouldn't believe-- he was gone.
I SWEAR TO GOD IT WAS THE WEIRDEST THING EVER.
