"Dig that hole properly, Brother Gregor. I don't care if it breaks your nails—dig your fingers deep into the dirt, like a bug. Or a dog. You don't want the seeds to wash out on the first rainfall, do you?"

"No, Brother," Henry grumbles. Kneeling in the garden, on aching shins, with the sun burning down his bared nape. Enacting penance for the grand sin of his awkward bumbling, which made him drop an alchemy jug for the third time. He hadn't dared to imagine what life in the monastery would be like, back when Sir Radzig tossed the suggestion in the timbre of an order, but the reality has proved both harsher and more frustrating than he expected. A kernel of resentment burns in Henry's heart despite his best efforts.

The boy above him is unempathetic to Henry's plight. He has his arms crossed over his chest and a smirk firm on his face, radiating the smugness of a star pupil who knows the teacher will never touch him. Brother Aloysius. And isn't that a lofty name, a glittering mouthful of a word. It suits the boy's golden hair, his delicate, handsome features. A nobleman's son, no doubt. One whose family has donated heaps of gold and riches the monastery, no doubt. Henry seethes on pure principle.

Chapter 2 of In Nomine Desiderii, Duty to Desire for the KCD Monastery Week! Hans teases Brother Henry relentlessly and keeps needling him. With a new plan in mind, Hans goes to Abbot Jan to request for more physical activity (see: sword training). Naturally, the Abbot is happy to assign Hans to Brother Henry's care which is just what Hans wants. What starts as a training practice soon turns into a heated wrestling match and more.
