This week's #homegrownkcadventure took place at the #LegendsField the home of the #kcmonarchs (formerly known as the #kctbones). First, this baseball field is small and intimate and much more affordable than the #kcroyals. Second, the team changed their name to the Monarchs earlier this year in honor of Kansas City's #negroleague team, and they educational panels about the Negro League and famous players from the original Monarchs team within the stadium. Going to redo this one but thought I'd share anyway. Sometimes it's a base hit. Hilton Lee Smith was an American right-handed pitcher in Negro league baseball. He pitched alongside Satchel Paige for the Kansas City Monarchs between 1932 and 1948.
