Dear Alice, I'm not sure what to say because I feel like I'm always overwhelmed with my emotions when I think about what an amazing person you are. You are bold, strong, unique, kind, compassionate and a very beautiful human being-inside and out. Raavi thinks Shiva is not fighting for their relationship and that he gave up on her. What she doesn't know is that he's been fighting for far too long. He fought the world for her, he fought his family and took all the blame on himself, he let everyone say whatever shit they wanted to say to him, he let her think whatever she did because he wanted to give her space and let her have time to come to herself after the dreadful trauma of trying to commit suicide on the shaadi day. He respected her enough to let tell her "darr mat. Ladne nahi aya hu. Lad lad ke thak gayi hogi" but at the time she was too overwhelmed with everything and failed to see that he HAS been trying hard in this marriage- not just to save their relationship, but to SAVE HER. He never cared about what anyone said about him but he cares about what Raavi thinks about him. He DOESN'T have an inferiority complex 😒 He just sees himself as she did. She admits she did. They were never able to communicate their feelings to each other but it wasn't their fault. Not Shiva, not Raavi's. He fought the world, he fought her, he fought himself.. Shiva's been fighting for too long 😔 He's been strong for too long 😔💔 And now he is breaking. He is already broken. Despite being broken, he's trying to pick up the shattered pieces of his heart and try to change himself into someone he thinks she would prefer, FOR HER. Not for himself, but for her. Balloons

"Papa chalo na woh wale uncle ke paas chalte hai, unke paas kitne saare balloons hai," a 9-year-old Shivi said as she dragged Shiva to the balloon man near the playground.

"Kitne pyaare balloons hai na, Papa. Mujhe yeh saare balloons chahiye. Dila do na pleaseeeeeee," she said, making her signature puppy face and smiling at him.

Chattan Pandya couldn't help but melt when he saw his daughter's antics.

"Aap itne saare ballons ka karogi kya, Shivi?" He inquired, knowing that his wife would kill him if they returned with ten large balloons. His wife was afraid of loud noises, and he was concerned that the balloons would burst during the night, disrupting her beauty sleep.

"Bohot saare balloons ke sath khelne mein mazaa aayega na Papa isiliye. Ab dilado pleaseeeeee," she said.

"Chalo thik hai, lekin aapko yeh balloons Tara didi aur Rishi bhaiyya ke saath share karna hoga, promise?"

"Promise Papa, ab jaldi balloons leke ghar chalte hai, late ho gaye toh Mumma daatengi," she said.

They were about to leave when he noticed a few children, most of them younger than Shivi, coming towards them.

"Uncle, hume bhi ek balloon do na, please," they requested, assuming he was a balloon man due to the ten balloons he was carrying. He noticed they were all wearing shirts that said 'Krantiveer Charitable Trust.' 

Shivi looked at them surprised, before breaking into a huge smile.

"Hello friends. Yeh lijiye aapke liye balloons," she said, taking the balloons from Shiva and distributing them to the children.

"Lekin humare paas paise nahi hai," said one of the older kids.

"Paison ki koi zaroorat nahi bacche, aapko balloons pasand aaye na. Bas aur kuch nahi chahiye. Shiva smiled as he said, "Ab jao jaake khelo."

"Shivi, aapne toh saare balloons unn bacchon ko de diye, ab aap kiske saath khelogi?" Shiva asked her as they walked back to their house.

"Papa humare ghar pe toh bohot saare toys hai na, unhi se khel lungi. Lekin unn bacchon ke paas toh zyaada toys nahi hogi na, isiliye meine unhe saare balloons de diye. Aapne dekha nahi woh bacche kitne khush the balloons dekhkar."

Shiva Pandya smiled as he realized his little baby girl was just like her mother. They never cared about materialistic things. They always believed in spreading joy and happiness everywhere they went.

Chhote Haath

"Itna kya ghoor hai, Shiva?" Raavi inquired softly.

"Sorry, kya boli tu?" he asked, shifting his gaze away from her hands and towards Raavi.

"Tu tabse mere haaton ko ghoore raha hai. Aise bhi kya khaas hai mere haaton mei ki tu ghoorta hi rehta hai?"

"Tere haath na bahut chhote hai," he replied sheepishly. "Itne chhote, cute aur soft hai,"

Raavi blushed. "Seriously?"

"Haa... They're so nice and warm to hold. My entire hand could cover yours. Yeh dekh." He gradually extended his hand and placed it on top of hers.

"Shiva, ched mat," she grumbled, blushing at her husband's unconventional flirting techniques.

"Kyun na chedu, ek lauti biwi hai tu meri." Shiva smirked his signature grin. "Aur waise bhi galat kya bola hai, tu kitni pyaari hai, tere haath kitne pyaare hai. Aur ab jab mujhe pata chal gaya hai ki mere chedne se tu lal tamatar ban jati hai, toh ab mein roz chedunga."

"Shivaaaa..."

Shiva raised her hand, kissing her fingertips and palm as she felt chills on her skin. "You have the most beautiful hands I've ever seen." He muttered. "I love them. I love you." Overwhelmed, she pulled her hand out of his and wrapped them around his neck, burying her face into his chest. "I love you, too," she said softly.

Khichdi

"Aur kitna time lagega Mamma?" 8- year old Shivi asked Raavi.

"Yeh Bhootnath, pata nahi kaha reh gaya. Mein zara dekh kar aati hu," she said as she got out of bed.

"Aap kahi nahi jaungi Mamma, Papa has given me strict orders that you are not to leave the room today. All you're supposed to do is rest."

"I'm feeling better now, and the fever has also gone down. At least, let me go check. Don't you remember what kaand your Papa did the last time?"

"Yes, when he nearly burned down the kitchen trying to make khichdi and then we all ended up eating half-burnt khichdi," Shivi laughed.

Just then, Shiva walked into the room, wearing an apron and a plate covered by a cloche.

"My dear ladies, I present to you 'Somnath's best khichdi,' prepared by your very own Michelin star Chef Shiva Pandya," Shiva said, dramatically lifting the cloche and placing the plate on the bedside table.

"Does the kitchen now look like a warzone like it did the last time?" Shivi chuckled as Raavi struggled to control her laugh.

"Ha, tere jokes bhi tere mummy ke jokes ki tarah phaltu hote jaa rahe hai," Shiva retorted sarcastically.

"Ae Bhootnath teri himmat kaise hui mere jokes ko phaltu bolne ki," Raavi said as she jumped out of bed, ready to fight.

"Tu phaltu aur tere jokes bhi phaltu"

"Toh tere jokes kaunse Kapil Sharma level ke hai.

"Dekh Chipkali, mere jokes pe mat jaa."

"Ha toh tu bhi mat jaa."

Shivi sighed as she served herself some Khichdi, "Yeh dono toh phirse shuru ho gaye. Hey Somnath, yeh kinn bacchon ke saath phasa diya mujhe."

"Khichdi toh iss baar sach mein acchi bani hai," she said as she ate, her parents still bickering in the background.

Nautankis

While emptying the clothes into the washing machine, Raavi noticed a stain on Shiva's shirt. After closely inspecting it, she discovered it was a lipstick stain. She grabbed the shirt and marched into her room to talk to her husband. "Who did this?" she demanded angrily. Shiva raised his head from the book he was reading and was about to say something when he was interrupted.

"Meeeeeeeeeee!!!! a 4-year-old Shivi exclaimed as she entered the room, "I was trying out your makeup, Mamma." Her face was caked in makeup, with her eyes a strange mix of gold and pink eyeshadow, her cheeks pink from the overuse of blush, and her lips smudged with red lipstick. "Am I not the most beautiful girl in Somnath?" she exclaimed as she examined herself in the mirror. "Papa said the pink lipstick didn't go with my dress, so I wiped it off with his shirt." "Doesn't red lipstick look better on me, Papa?" She inquired. "Bilkul apni Maa pe gayi hai, ek number ke nautanki hai dono," said Shiva, drawing glares from both the Nautankis.
