Sorry for the long leave, account problems... but here is something to spice things up! Kebako and Squiddie from Catgirl Without Salad by WayForward and 3D models created by Me for Kebako Day!!!!! I love this game but unlike what you see it’s a 2D Smooth pixal game, look it up one day and give it a try.

You’ll see what I mean when you play or see the gameplay.

I still need to finish her other main outfit but I’ll do that sometime for next year.

so i remembered i had cat girl without salad and never played it and just decided "yeah i'll play this," and now i love kebako. i also love unikitty. happy perky brightly colors make me happy. i also like cats. i feel like that explains everything.

210 characters later and you guys are finally catching up with my sneaky misdirection!

In the same way that Bubsy was the surprise 151st character in the SMASH 150, Kebako was supposed to be 201, but that was before the Ultimate DLC was announced.

The main character from WayForward's Cat Girl Without Salad, an April Fools Day joke that involved fake screenshots of a game featuring a hilariously mish-mashed design of a character in a game whose genre could be described as "shooter/puzzle/RPG/rhythm/dating sim/etc./etc." The "screenshot" was crammed with so many details and mechanics as to be ridiculous and I can only assume nobody really fell for it.

But then, some time in the future, a short game was released based on the idea. Of course, it had to trim away a lot of rubbish to actually be a playable game, and ended up as a shoot-em-up. The hook was that it featured power-ups that changed your controls to those of other genres (ie: Rhythm game, RPG menus or transforming into a retro Pac-Man style character.)

It was fun and flippant but it suffered from the same problem seen previously in Kid Icarus: Uprising. The desperate need to have ceaseless, pointless chatter from the not-very-hilarious characters while you're trying to play the game! I find that kind of thing more distracting than entertaining, sadly, but it was otherwise a nice little idea!

WHO'S NEXT?

Not sure! It still depends on who the next DLC character is. I KNOW I'm still drawing all the Smash characters but I am desperately trying convince people that this is no longer a Smash Bros project so I'll be doing some re-branding in the future.

I think it's safe to say, though, that I won't be returning to this project for THE REST OF THE DECADE, but I do have quite a few more characters in varying stages of completion so it might be sooner than you think!

Anyway, I really liked her game despite being... kind of a joke, and I want more xD
