Kat's ESC Discourse S6 E6: Good, But... 33 -- Zdob Si Zdub, So Lucky (Moldova) I mean I love a good joke act (well actually I don't and y'all know it) but I particularly can't stand this one. It's not that it's bad musically, it's just annoying. This is the kind of song I'd set as my alarm because it's loud and i'll want to turn it off. 32 -- Witloof Bay, With Love Baby (Belgium) First of all, title is lazy. It sounds like their group name. And then...look, I love acapella, when it's done right. Schlager is not a genre well translated to a six person acapella group. And this song is super repetitive and I dislike their choice of soloists. Next.

Kat’s Eurovision Discourse S7 E6: Oh Oh Oh

29 – Marcin Mroziński, Legenda (Poland) This is honestly riveting and kind of creepy. I kind of wish they’d billed this as a duet between Marcin and that one incredibly talented backup singer. I think everyone onstage was very talented, especially in the vocal department. As for the song it’s certainly not conventional but it is definitely interesting to listen to. The staging was very atmospheric, rather like an R-rated version of Snow White sort of? It seemed to be what they were going for but then they diverged from that theme…idk.

28 – Miro, Angel Si Ti (Bulgaria) This is probably one of the most forgettable songs of the year. This is schlager at its most mediocre, and the verses are honestly terrible. The chorus sounds appealing and he’s a good vocalist but I really wish he’d sung on the words. (I guess it shows how forgettable the song is that I put the WRONG FLAG on this image and then did a bad job of fixing it oops…)

Kat's ESC Discourse S5 E6: How am i supposed to title this?? 32 -- Filipa Sousa, Vida Minha (Portugal) Profoundly boring. She has a nice voice but the song puts me to sleep and there's nothing memorable about the staging. Next. 31 -- Trackshittaz, Woki Mit Deim Popo (Austria) It was funny. Very good novelty act, classic novelty act. I honestly don't know why i have it where i do, i just...do.

Kat's ESC Discourse S4 E6: Hard Rock Hell 29 -- Adrian Lulgjuraj and Bledar Sejko, Identitet (Albania) The instrumental was nice. It was okay until they started singing. That's all i'm gonna say about it. 28 -- Who See, Igranka (Montenegro) It's a great song, i love the song. It reminds me of The Real Thing, almost (my sixteenth place this year). But the staging...honey, no. The spaceship and robot girl aesthetic made it feel like a ten year old montenegrin boy playing star wars. The artists themselves were really talented though.

Kat's ESC Discourse S3 E6: Places Interchangeable 27 -- Aarzemnieki, Cake To Bake (Latvia) This song is honestly so adorable. I can't take it too seriously obviously but it's so cute and none of them are bad musicians. It gives me good vibes. 26 -- Vilija Matačiūnaitė, Attention (Lithuania) Her dress is...interesting. I don't understand why the dude was thrusting his hands through the holes, or why the holes were even there. But Vilija is a really talented singer, and she's energetic and doing the dance well, and all memes aside the song is about wanting basic things - "attention, a little care" - upon entering into a relationship. Honestly? Relative.

Kat’s ESC Discourse S2 E7: Dancing On The Borderline

28 – Ann Sophie, Black Smoke (Germany) Honestly, this song deserved better despite the dismal place in which I have it. Ann Sophie has a better voice than people give her credit for, and also she looked SO. CLASSY. in that outfit. Her staging was pretty cool too. Nevertheless, though, it’s pretty niche stuff. I can understand why it got nil points despite my bemoaning it.

27 – Anti Social Media, The Way You Are (Denmark)

MY SONS. DESERVED BETTER. Their song was so cute, and I loved the 50’s vibe that both the song and the staging had. Also, the lead singer had a really unique voice. It was really well staged, and while the song was maybe not a standout the staging was FANTASTIC. They deserved to qualify. Smh.

Kat's ESC Discourse S2 E6: You Probably Have Some Regrets 30 -- Elnur Hüseynov, Hour Of The Wolf (Azerbaijan) It's a really good song, and Elnur has a pretty strong voice. The staging absolutely killed it, though. The dancers wrecked everything for me. The background was also pretty boring, but not terrible. Had the dancers not been there, this probably would be higher for me. 29 -- Molly Sterling, Playing With Numbers (Ireland) Molly has an absolutely B E A U T I F U L voice. It's amazing. She's super talented and I hope she's successful in life someday...just not with this song. It was boring. The instrumental was boring, the lyrics were boring. Her staging was okay, and my favorite part of it was probably the vintage piano. I would have been cool with this song qualifying, it's a very nice ballad but overall not to my taste.

Kat's ESC Discourse S1 E6: Excuse Me, How Did These Qualify Again? 32 -- Douwe Bob, Slow Down (Netherlands) He can sing, I guess. He was attractive in that suit. But I hate country music with a burning passion, and while he had a decent performance there's something off about his voice. I don't know what it is. It almost sounds too thin. Also the long silence he has near the end was just...like, chill, okay, we get it. 31 -- Michał Szpak, Color Of Your Life (Poland) Again, great voice wasted on terrible song and shit staging. I don't like his voice as much as I do Sandhja's but the musicality of his song was /slightly/ better. (slightly.) But yeah there were a lot of crimes here. The coat. The lyrics. The background lights staging thing. I am loving his hair though, and the thing with the televote was HIL A RIOUS.
