Day 2 - Monday July 20th - Hurt / Comfort. Share your favorite moment(s) where Ressler and Liz have supported each other over the seasons. @keenlerweek @alyblacklist @aussieokie

1 - "Do you want me to rough him up for you?"

Ressler, You should have roughed him up. Liz's and our opinon. Also the look he gave her and how uncomfortable he was during the phone call - Adorable.

2 - "Since you weren't going to Wing Yee I was bringing Wing Yee to you" 

He wanted to send her a bottle of wine but ended up bringing her food and spending the birthday with her and her favorite food. A thing she used to do with Tom and even the Bottle of Wine which she was supposed to share with a "special person" was opened.

3 - "It's not about him and me - It's about him"

Yes Ressler, we know it's about him. He cares a lot about her. He doesn't want her to end up with the guy who laid a hand on her. That's why he wouldn't go to the wedding. And there is even an I love you! ;)

4 - "Its gonna be okay"

Despite of the fact that he hates Tom, he was still there for her, hugged her and told her that its gonna be okay. That shows again how much he cares for her despite his differences with Tom.(Anyone else melt a little with that "come here"?)

5 - "Tiny Island of Calm" 

She literally just told him that she could not live without him. She couldn't let her knucklehead go to prison so she got rid the body. This time, she protected him and he couldn't even believe it.

LIZ: “Hey, you hungry? Tom’s cooking tonight, so that means there will be a ton of extra food.”

RESSLER: “Thanks, but I think I’ll just head home.”

LIZ: “You sure?”

I wish Ressler would have accepted; the look on Tom’s woulda been worth the cash!

Why I Ship/Still Ship Keenler:

It’s plain as day on why I ship/still ship Ressler & Liz, the looks, comfort, smiles, hugs, sharing secrets & more have been there every season. They’re so many scenes that happened for a reason. I first fell in love with them in The Stewmaker. All the scenes above are very special for Keenler! He has always been there for her when it matters most, willing to help & drop everything to be there(even if it is your paid girlfriend lol) And after the Brother’s episode, it’s very clear on how Liz feels about him. She was also there for him when it matters most. They both could have said I love you and it would have been the right moment! They’re beautiful together & I’ll always be waiting. I am going down with the Keenler ship till the end!

Keenler Week 2019 - Day 1 - 100 Reasons Why I Ship / Still Ship Keenler

I chose 100 moments across all six seasons because that is really what Ressler & Liz’s relationship is about. It’s about moments - most small, not big. It’s not flashy. It doesn’t require grand gestures or trite romantic tropes. It’s natural. It’s a journey. I think it’s the most natural relationship of the show because it’s been bubbling under the surface for seasons and every now and again non-shippers and press sit up and take notice and say wait a minute...? Keenler shippers are the most patient shippers in the fandom because we don’t expect or demand moments every episode. We understand their story isn’t the main bread and butter of The Blacklist in terms of the mythology or the case of the week. But the seeds of their story are there, and have been there from the very beginning. And I’ll submit, they’re growing as we head into Season 7. And in the end, I hope those seeds will bear fruit.

Fate made them partners. They chose to become friends. Suspicion turned to respect and respect turned to affection. Love has always been shown in small ways - in the way they defend and save each other. In the way they drop everything when the other is in need. In the way that they share things with each other that they don’t share with anyone else. In the way they look at each other, the way they touch each other. It’s different than their other relationships. Their relationship is based on equality and honesty in a way that none of Liz’s other relationships are. It’s evolved in a healthy way over the seasons despite the ups and downs both characters have experienced. They are never at odds for long. They’ve both experienced terrible loss and are broken in their own ways, but those struggles have had purpose and together they are right. They are probably the only people on earth who fully understand what the other has been through. And, I’ll reiterate, their connection to each other is a CHOICE. An honest choice given without conditions, without memory manipulations, without an assignment, without secrets about the past and without agendas -- without anything other than the inexorable bond that two people have formed naturally because of the circumstances in which they have been thrown together. Even when they haven’t shared scenes, their relationship has been protected - never destroyed. Together, they are each other’s second chance at love and hope and family and I hope in the end, the writers bring them together and give Liz the better future that Red promised her that she would have so long ago, the normal life she has always claimed to want. And in doing so, that they end Ressler’s loneliness and make all his sacrifices worth it. Two people whose lives were thrown into chaos by one man, and who somehow survive.  

Liz: How is this all gonna end? Red: This is an end. And then something new will begin. You deserve the best in life, Lizzy. I know that sounds odd coming from a man who has brought you some of the worst, but it’s the reason why Tom had to work so hard to be that for you. To be kind, to be thoughtful, make you laugh, to make you love him. Because you deserve that. And it will come.

Well, I still believe that new beginning is coming. Hopefully in Season 7. If not, by the end of the series whenever that happens.

Keenler Week - Day 1 - Why I still ship them

I still see a future for Keenler because of all they have been through, both separately and together. And while I feel the ship has been very one sided - Ressler clearly loves Liz - I know that Liz cares for him. She trusts him, and confides in him. He is always there for her and their friendship is strong. And that is a good foundation to build on.

For most people, it was The Stewmaker 104 hug that started the ship. That definitely piqued my interest! (Mainly for the angst! :-) But then in General Ludd 108, I began to see them as a future couple when Ressler broke that icy exterior he’d been portraying and cared about Liz’s grief. And ever since then I’ve kept this ship afloat in my heart for 6 years.

They are the same, despite appearing to be different. Both understand what it’s like to work with Reddington, and the secrets that entails, which is something they can’t share with anyone else. Both have a love/hate relationship with Red, and know he cares for them.

They both lost their loves. They understand love and loss and the loneliness it brings. And I have to believe there was a reason they killed off their significant others and left them so alone.

When the other is down, they are there to support and comfort. Cue the blue blanket, tears and angst! When they break down like this, they need each other.

They will drop everything to help each other. Even when with someone else.

They will protect each other, and each will allow the other to protect them when they are unarmed.

They look at each other and then don’t seem to want to break eye contact.

Wing Yee Chinese food is their thing when they share dinner in the office after hours.That’s after hours - when normal people go home, they come back to work to be with each other.

They understand each other. They know each other incredibly well, and are simply perfect together.

I don’t know what the writers have planned, but with Diego saying in Season 1 or 2 ‘they want me making moon eyes at her’, and Jon B saying how flirty 608 was, it’s clear they are leaning toward a true Keenler relationship, and always have been.
