People within the entertainment and night life industry have been quiet and patient for quite some time but even with no local cases in over 80 days, our silence seems to have been taken for granted and our industry as a whole. . On June 20th, there was an address to the nation and it was stated then that “in a week or 2, the restrictions placed on parties and party boats would be revisited”. Exactly 1 month has passed since that statement was made. Our families have waited. Our children have waited... BUT Our bills have NOT waited and steadily increase as the days go by!! . This is not some small sector that only a handful are affected (even though the plight of every individual should be heard) but the cries of many, so when you think of this industry, think about: * Clothing stores * Hair Dressers and Salons * Photographers * Lighting companies and their technicians * Sound system owners and operators * Security companies and personnel * Caterers * Bartenders * Sound engineers * Graphic artiste * Promotional companies & brand ambassadors * Music producers * Artiste / Musicians * Artiste managers * Event planners * Promoters * Venue owners * Landlords * DJs And more! . This is our livelihood. We have been out of income since March and have seen all other industries get some form of redress or guidelines within which to operate so they can sustain their respective fields. Why are we not being allowed this same courtesy? . The entertainment and night life industry remains in support of the Covid19 protocols and none of us wish to see an increase in cases in our country.
