“It’s… merely curiosity, sir. I- I… was just asking just in case I could help! I mean.” After some seconds of doubt she looked down and started to play with her fingers. “I usually craft some jewelry and I get a lot of stones and gems that I don’t really use and I thought about give them to you…? If you want- I know that you may have quite a lot of the same stones b-but, you will appreciate them more! Right?”
“You could help? Hm,” he raised an eyebrow. That was new. No one usually offered themselves for no particular reason. Steven had his doubts, but he held them close to his heart and no-where near the surface.
He hummed, seemingly in thought. Did he have use for more stones and gems? Of course -- he collected them. Did he have use for what she was offering? Perhaps...
Steven folded his hands behind him, while he demurred, “I should think, that those belong to you -- you must have bought them with your own money. I can’t -- no, I won’t accept them. They are yours, and not mine.”
He made no mention of the fact that he rarely accepted gifts from other people.
