I just caught up to Naruto's latest chapter and I am hella confused about everything right now.
Skipping school tomorrow! Hence me being awake at 2AM right now...
I watch Return of Superman on the KBS Channel on Youtube and whenever I scroll down to the comments section, some of the comments are just so ignorant, blunt and ridiculous and that makes me mad. There was one complaining how married couples don't show that much physical affection and that they don't love each other. First of all, remember that the show is Korean, it's set mostly for a korean audience or more generally, the asian society. Remember how the asian society isn't that open up to skinship and physical affection unlike the western society. I'm not saying that it is wrong to have physical affection but understand and respect that this is the general view of the asian society. Most people aren't open to the concept of kissing or hugging especially since it's on screen and shown around the nation. Also, physical affection doesn't mean that they don't love each other. My parents don't show much physical affection but I know that they love each other as much. It's the thought that counts, not always the actions that are perceived. You can always hug or hold hands but what comes from the heart is the most meaningful of all actions. Another thing that annoyed me was comments towards the parent-in-laws and saying how they shouldn't interfere with how their grandson/daughter are raised. Of course, it can get annoying because the kids weren't birthed just for the grandparents however, I feel that grandparents do have some right to inform the parents since they've had the experience of raising a child themselves. Respect for the elderly is also a huge thing in asia and it is best to listen to the elders as annoying as it can be, sometimes, their words are great lessons towards you as they've gone through the experience before. Yes, times have changed but it doesn't hurt to be a little old-fashioned to raise a child with good behaviour. And not forgetting, the comments on veteran MC Lee Hwijae on how he was placing too much hope on his children becoming atheletes. It doesn't hurt for a parent to dream for their child. And remembering the asian context, expectations are always there even though it may seem like a hindrance but with a goal in mind, things do work out. Even though the future is uncertain, helping to set up a path for their child could be helpful in ways as well. In the end, parents nowadays do understand that it is the kid's choice that determines their path, hence how Tablo brought Haru to the different places to find out her hobby and expose her to the many things she could do. All these things were just some of the few comments I found quite ridiculous. Just remember to look at the person's point of view before pointing fingers because comments do hurt. Why am I writing this? I should be watching more Korean Variety shows right now. Haha!
