ACLU lawyer Kellen Naird has never agreed with her parents on much, which was most of why she abandoned her family for a job in New York at the first opportunity. But when her mother is sentenced to forty years in prison and her father is appointed head of the brand-new Space Force, Kellen sucks it up and moves to Colorado to help support her younger sister.
Kellen takes a job as Dr. Adrian Malkovich’s legal advisor—or in other words, he pays her to argue against her father for him. Spending most of her time on the base is miserable, and an accidental one-night-stand with Space Force’s jackass Public Relations representative isn’t doing much to help. But this is her life now, and soon enough, Kellen’s entrenched in so many problems that walking away is no longer an option.
