Noah had only been busking for an hour, but he was restless as hell. Couldn’t help it. He’d been that way every day he played on the street ever since he got himself Kendall’s number. The two of them had texted off and on a couple of nights here and there, but he had no idea if he’d hit the appropriate length of time to ask if she was ready to hang out or not. Noah was a fucking rocket, shooting down the street, blowing the speed limit to smithereens, and he knew that damn well - but something about Kendall seemed way too sensitive for him to go his normal speed.
So, he busked. Because eventually she had to come by and tip him, right?
That time came around 11:30 in the morning. Noah glanced down the sidewalk, eye drawn for a reason he was unaware of, but the moment he caught sight of a familiar face making her way downtown, he lit up like a spotlight. And, because he was quite extra, if he did say so himself, he slid into a song he’d only recently transcribed for his violin: Flaws, the very one she’d said was her favorite.Fingers raced to keep with the chunky, thick harmonies to the best of his ability, while he sang the lyrics softly, his lower tenor voice that he still wasn’t quite used to filling the air on the sidewalk.
Coins and a few bills scattered in his violin case, but he was deadset on keeping his eyes on Kendall’s, looking far more like a mischievous fae than a man. Only when he finished the song, quite expertly if he did say so himself - and he did - he took a little bow.

Blurb:
He was my first kiss. My first everything. And then he married someone else.
I've been in love with Archer Lockwood since I was fourteen years old. I've never told him. I stood at his wedding, held his newborn twins in the hospital, and cried in my car afterward. I smiled through every moment that should have been mine—because that's what best friends do.
Now Archer is divorced, overwhelmed, and raising two three-year-olds alone during an NHL season. When he calls for help, I pack a suitcase and fly to New York.
The plan was simple: help with the kids, keep my distance, and don't fall in love.
The plan lasted about seventy-two hours.
Because his twins have me wrapped around their fingers. His house feels like home. And he keeps looking at me like he's finally seeing something he missed.
I've waited years for Archer to look at me like that.
I just wasn't ready for what happens when he finally does.

Description
He’s the NHL’s most guarded single dad.
She’s the one woman who can’t afford to fall for him.
Tori Wells didn’t fight her way into the NHL just to become another cautionary tale. As a team physical therapist, she lives by strict rules: heal the players, protect her career, and never—ever—cross the line with a hockey player.
Then she’s assigned to Zayden Bishop.
On the ice, he’s untouchable—a French-Canadian superstar with a reputation for being cold, private, and impossible to read. Off the ice, he’s a devoted single father running on discipline, stubbornness, and too little sleep. Until a serious shoulder injury threatens his season—and the stability he’s built for his six-year-old daughter.
Tori is in charge of his rehab. Full oversight. Daily sessions.
No room for mistakes.
No room for attraction.
Except Zayden isn’t what she expected.
The more time they spend together—early mornings, quiet road trips, late-night conversations—the harder it becomes to pretend this is just professional. Because Zayden doesn’t just need his shoulder fixed. He needs someone who sees the man behind the jersey.
And Tori is dangerously close to becoming that someone.
Crossing the line could cost her everything she’s worked for. And Zayden can’t risk bringing anyone into his daughter’s life unless he’s certain they’ll stay.

My Review
5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Hockey Problem, the first book in the new Off The Ice Series by Kendall Ryan, is a glorious, entertaining, emotional, and exciting start to the series.
I couldn’t get enough of these two in this tense and slow-burn workplace romance. It’s between single dad, French-Canadian superstar NHL player Zayden Bishop and physical therapist Tori Wells. Tori knows the rules after witnessing what happened to her friend, so she lives by a strict work ethic. She focuses on healing the players, protecting her career, and never crossing the line with a hockey player. However, she wasn’t expecting an instant attraction to Zayden, who has a reputation for being cold and impossible to read.
This is a slow-burn romance at its finest—charming, emotional, heartfelt, and filled with tension and forbidden longing. I couldn’t help but swoon, fall, and cheer for these two as I fell in love right along with them. And Maisie, Zayden’s daughter, captured my heart as well!
This story was so captivating that I couldn’t put it down until I finished it. It’s definitely worth the read.
I received an early copy from the Author and this is my honest review.
Ice Cold Chemistry
**** Releasing June 25, 2026 from Author Kendall Ryan ****
Will be available as an ebook, paperback and audiobook and will be going into Kindle Unlimited upon release.
Tropes:
• Grumpiest of grumpy/sunshine
• Hockey Player x Yoga Instructor
• Fake Dating
• Possessive / protective hero
• Opposites attract
• Brooding hero softened by sunshine heroine
• Physical tension (yoga moments!)
About the Book:
She’s the distraction the team can’t afford. He’s the solution no one saw coming.
Winnie Garrett is done with men. After a toxic relationship left her second-guessing everything, she’s focused on one thing: her dream job as the New York Knights’ new yoga instructor.
Banks Callahan doesn’t do relationships. Or feelings. Or anything that requires letting people get close. Growing up in the foster system taught him not to need anyone—and definitely not to want something he could lose.
So when the team’s new yoga instructor becomes an unexpected locker-room distraction threatening their playoff focus, Banks comes up with a solution so ridiculous it just might work.
Fake dating.
If the guys think Winnie is his, they’ll back off. It’s simple locker room code: you don’t touch what’s claimed—like calling dibs on the last slice of pizza.
The problem?
Nothing about Winnie Garrett is simple.
She’s warmth and laughter and everything Banks has spent years convincing himself he doesn’t need. She makes him want things he can’t have. Makes him feel things he doesn’t understand.
He was never supposed to fall for her.
But somewhere between fake hand-holding, pretend nicknames, and very real late-night moments, the line between “just for show” and “dangerously real” starts to blur.
Ice Cold Chemistry is a slow-burn hockey romance featuring fake dating, a grumpy hero, a sunshine heroine, and the relationship neither of them planned—but both might need.

“ Everything with you is complicated.“
I absolutely fell in love with this book. Poppy and Dean’s slow-burn chemistry is pure perfection, and I was rooting for them from the very beginning. The laugh-out-loud moments, the tension, the push and pull, and the longing had me giggling, sighing, and swooning for these two characters. With a perfect HEA!

About the Book:
A sizzling, grumpy-sunshine small-town romance with heart, heat, and a hero you will melt for!
Andi Callahan prefers the quiet company of the dead.
As a morgue tech in a sleepy coastal town outside Boston, she lives for silence, predictability, and zero small talk.
Living people? Too loud. Too messy. Too nosy.
The dead don’t interrupt her, meddle in her life, or flirt with her.
Cole Hartley does.
He’s everything Andi avoids—charming, persistent, and entirely too good-looking.
The town’s beloved firefighter-paramedic has a hero complex the size of Massachusetts and a dangerous talent for cracking Andi’s ice-cold composure.
What starts as a harmless bet to make her smile turns into something neither of them saw coming. Now Cole’s determined to prove that life is worth the mess—and that love might be the riskiest, most rewarding thing of all.
Funny, heartfelt, and impossible to put down, this opposites-attract romance asks what happens when a woman who’s made peace with solitude finally lets herself feel everything.
Perfect for fans of quirky slow-burns, grumpy-sunshine, spicy banter, enemies to lovers, and one very determined golden retriever in human form.

My Review
5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Main Character Energy was a well written, entertaining, fun, opposites attract, reverse grumpy sunshine, romance that I couldn’t get enough of.
The characters were perfectly matched, their banter was witty and full of charm, their chemistry full of sizzle and heat. But it was Cole’s warmth and sincerity that helped Andi open up about her past and finally let him in.
This emotional and heartwarming story captured my heart, from their first encounter, and held my attention long into the night until the last word was read.
This is Cole Hartley and Andi Callahan’s journey to a happily-ever-after and I didn’t want it to end!
Cole is the town’s hunky firefighter/ EMT, and he has a problem you see because he has a raging crush on a certain morgue tech…
Andi Callahan loves her job in the town morgue. It’s quiet, she likes it that way, she does her job and mostly everyone leaves her alone except for Cole and his…bet that started at the firehouse.
“THE ANDI BRACKET.“
“Will Cole get Andi to go out with him?”
He even has given her all eight stages of the bet written on a sheet of paper. How’s that for honesty?
And one by one he lets her know when they have reached each stage. Swoon! I giggled, I cried and I swooned hard for Cole as I cheered these two on! Can Cole get Andi to see that there is more to life with him by her side?
“Fear is a survival instinct. But love isn’t something you survive—it’s something you show up for. Over and over. Even when it’s terrifying. Because it’s worth it.”
But there is so much more about this story that I haven’t even told you about that makes it my best read this year. The Gala Auction. The explosion. As well as an added bonus to this story as well, in the form of another romance! My lips are sealed about this one. So hurry and click to get this book because it’s two romances for the price of one!!
Loved starting out the new year with this entertaining, fun, heartwarming five star romance!
