the good thing about my au where Kendra came to Sunnydale for the second time earlier and she gets to have a little bit of a life and a character’s arc before being killed off for shock value/because there can’t be two active Slayers at once (without betraying the whole premise of the serie that Buffy is special and doomed for this, at least) is that she could have bonded with Jenny (while all the others were pissed at her for no reason) due to them both being the two “outsiders” to the main characters’ group (as someone else on Tumblr headcanoned before me) and she could have given Buffy the whole “lets forget about giving Angelus back his soul, he will always be dangerous because there will be always a liability for him to load it again, and have you forgotten what happened to Jenny?” instead of Xander, and it would have felt more right because Kendra, differently from Xander, would have not been motivated by her own feelings for Buffy (except feelings of friendship, nothing else since Kendra seemed to be very straight, and her words would have come off as more disinterested. If she would have been on Sunnydale long enough, she could have become Buffy’s friend who, even thanks to her own bias about vampires, could have given her thought love about Angelus instead of being so comprensive to the point of being a bit of a pushover like Willow sometimes is. She could have helped Buffy to motivate her to fight Angel, not only with her death but with her life, actions and words. Her death would have still felt unfair but at least she could have had a proper role in the friend’s group, in the fight against the evil forces and a bit of character’s arc.)
