i didnt read the Whole proship/anti info post but it + your reply (well thought out and written nicely!) made me realize like ah. thats why "proship" ppl act like that. they think its exclusively about like, weird fandom shit and not like "hey this is extremely uncomfortable you probably shouldnt be posting this publicly" if that makes sense. its the lack of self awareness
YEAH LITERALLY while i can't say No Anti Ever cares , i doubt the majority of antis care that someone ships like . a weird crossover ship or characters who don't really interact or characters with a more complex/nuanced relationship or even if someone has weird kinks . proshippers seem to think we go after Every Single Thing with even a hint of " problematic " aspects and proceed to like . monster's inc style isolate and try to destroy it in a panic JHDGSFHKJSF when in reality most of us don't give a shit and only really care when it comes to condoning that behavior
and honestly , i think a lot of proshippers ( even ones who are aware antis specifically take issue with romanticization ) when saying things like " fiction doesn't impact reality " ... don't actually understand the concept of fiction impacting reality ? because these are often the same people praising representation in media or criticizing bigoted jokes/tropes , which ... is fiction impacting reality . if fiction doesn't impact reality , representation doesn't matter , because it's Just Fiction
