no but really, i could write one, but i have a different thesis i’m supposed to be writing and bokuto doesn’t bring the bread home (unless you commission me...). somehow, i’ll have to abbreviate every thought i’ve had about him, which will be hard, because about 70% of my waking moments are spent thinking about him in some capacity.
i really like that furudate is able to convey what he tells us about bokuto. someone says to us that he motivates friend and enemy alike, and you can see that without being told. his personality and his enthusiasm are contagious, and he sincerely wants everyone to do their best, because that’s how he wants to beat you - at your best. his sincerity in general is something i adore about him, and it’s so striking...especially seeing his empathy with Tanaka in the latest chapters.
Bokuto’s emotional dysregulation is painfully relatable for me, even though i identify myself more with akaashi, and whenever i witness it i have so much empathy and admiration for him. to maintain his drive and to keep going through those sorts of mood shifts is incredibly difficult, and at his age especially, he handles it incredibly well, even without akaashi. people say akaashi manages bokuto, but actually i think akaashi just gave people the chance to see how bokuto manages himself. I really wish bokuto could admit how much effort it takes, because he deserves that credit, and despite his proclamations that he’s the best, it’s really clear that he doesn’t see himself that way, even at his highest heights.
