He let out a sharp breath (watching his breath crystallize in the process) as a branch cracked beneath his feet, nearly sending him tripping into the two foot deep snow in front of him as he juggled his flashlight back and forth between his hands, cursing under his breath as he started to regret his decision to wear mittens as apposed to gloves. It wasn’t even that dark outside yet, but the flashlight still helped to see things between the rapidly falling flakes of snow. He frowned to himself in the cold before turning to Mabel, rubbing at his arm in a dual attempt to keep himself warm and try to relax in the midst of this whole thing.
”A-Are you sure this is a good idea? I-I mean, I-I-I know elves a-and Santa a-and all that stuff sounds really n-neat and fun at first, b-but Rick and I once went to this one dimension where p-people ate lonely h-homeless teenagers instead of Christmas turkeys o-or hams, or whatever, a-and I don’t really wanna die right before Christmas.”
