One of the earliest, happiest moments I remember occurred when I was only two years old. It was 1999 and Toy Story 2 was in theatres. My dad and I had to travel to Kerasotes Showplace 16 in Rockford, because the theatre in Machesney Park wasn't built yet, and wouldn’t be for another six years. I don't remember a whole lot since I was only two, but some things have just stuck in my mind. I remember walking through the lobby and seeing previews and advertisements playing on the huge projectors above the concession stand. I remember seeing Buzz Lightyear fly through space and battle Zurg on the big screen in the auditorium. I loved it. I loved it so much that my dad and I would sometimes sit through the movie twice in one sitting! It was a cheap yet fun activity for my dad and I. Since I was so little, I got in for free and my dad only had to keep buying tickets for himself. This memory is so important to me because it is an insight to who I am today. Growing up my parents bought me a ton of Toy Story toys because I was so enthralled with the movies. To this day, I still love Toy Story. This was also probably the first time I showed an interest in film. I still love to see movies at the theatre. I love movies so much that I got a job at AMC Theatres and stayed there for almost three years. Working at the theatre was fun, and the free movies were a nice bonus. Most kids love Disney movies because of how magical they are, and Toy Story has always been special to me.
