1. How’d you choose your URL?
 A few reasons.. one of my favorite words is lovely and my favorite band is Tokio hotel whose fans are called aliens after they wrote the song “Alien” and dedicated it to the fans! also it just sounds really fuckin rad. like, hell yeah, lovely aliens. imagine aliens with flower crowns and glitter and shit. fuck yea

2. Middle name:
 Joy. My first name, Aliza, is Hebrew for “joyful” so my parents made my middle name joy. It’s funny cuz combined with my last name, my full name is “joyful (joy) weaver of straw baskets” haha

3. A fairytale or fictional pet you would want:
 dragons no competition. Like you said Derek. tiny dragons are so awesome to think about. they could sit on my shoulder, nip at my ear and hiss at ppl I don’t like, and go on secret missions for me and stuff omg yes. Big dragons are great too, I’d ride that shit everywhere.

4. Favorite Color:
 I always have a long ass answer for this one. I like scarlet, forest green, gold, and silver.. as well as pastel pink, pale blue, lime green, and lavender.. so many colors!!

5. Favorite song:
 hmm, World Behind My Wall by Tokio Hotel and The Grace of Úndomiel by Howard Shore are my all time favs.

6. Top 5 Fandom:
 Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Naruto, Roosterteeth/Achievement Hunter, and Narnia

7. Why do you enjoy Tumblr?
 I use it mostly for entertainment. I don’t follow too many blogs because I’ve narrowed it down to only blogs I’m interested in so my dash is always fun. It’s like a safe place-I’ve cut out all blogs that tend to get into drama or are just negative all the time. Also, once I stopped caring about follower count and stopped caring about what people thought of what I posted and began using tumblr simply for my pleasure and personal experiences, it made everything here a lot more enjoyable.

Heya, I was the anon who a while ago asked about college applications and avoiding engineering, and I wanted to let you know that I've so far gotten into every school I applied and interviewed for, including Sarah Lawrence, and the BFA Lighting Design programs at USC and U of I! (U of I theatre department offered me a talented student scholarship, which made me feel special, haha). That said, any suggestions on choosing a college, and any insight into the U of I program specifically? Thanks!

As far as choosing colleges...that’s a decision on you can make for yourself. But as someone once told me, you make a good choice, and you make the choice good. Meaning you don’t get hung up on what could have been at another school...you don’t look back and you commit wholly to your school and the choice you made.

As far as U of I (my alma mater), as of now their BFA lighting program is on the rebound. In the past it had been sort of kicked around and been the runt of the litter because a lot of faculty turnover and grad students getting the bulk of the design assignments. I think that’s slowly changing. However, it’s a great program for learning a lot of electrician work, and you’re working in some of the best theatre spaces in the midwest. The whole department is an amazing group of people and there’s a lot of mutual respect for the work being done by all part of design, performance, and theatre studies. So if you’re looking to turn up at a Big 10 school but you also want to work crazy hard in a bunch of spaces, U of I is that place.

Laurel (levianity) went to Sarah Lawrence, and I’m sure she’d have things to say about it as well.
