A really weird old design I had for Kestrel…

so my school decided to change the names of the house colours it used it be: red: kakatiya blue: maurya yellow: chalukya green: pandya

they're names of old indian dynasties, why they picked that, i do not know i'm in the green house btw

so we were like super enthusiastic that we were going to have new names, and they were going to be birds, specifically ones that prey on animals. they asked us to tell them a few options that we would prefer for each colour and we submitted it as red falcons, blue ravens, yellow hawks, and blue eagles, which i thought seemed pretty fair

well day of the announcement this is what we get: red: falcon blue: hawk yellow: eagle green: KESTRAL

WHAT EVEN IS A KESTRAL WHY DO I BELONG TO THE KESTRAL HOUSE i heard it as cholestrol at first then cortisol then castor oil

what even.

so now our whole house is going to boycott that name also no one wants to be vice captain anymore bcz what even is a KESTRAL
