The Kestrel 5000 Pocket Weather Tracker is Kestrel's handheld data logging weather meter.  The Kestrel 5000 replaced the Kestrel 4000 in November of 2015. 

** The 5000 is the same as the 5500, but has NO WIND DIRECTION.  If you need wind direction, check the Kestrel 5500.

This is Kestrel's environmental meter. This is a mini weather station in itself. The Kestrel 5500 upgraded from the Kestrel 4500 in November of 2015.  Functionally, you're getting more environmental features with some big improvements to the overall meter. (tripod NOT included)
