This is Mary, my Widdershins OC.

The name has it’s origin in Hebrew or Egyptian, meaning: "drop of the sea; bitter; beloved; love".

She had… A bit of psychosis and tried to cut gills into her neck before walking into the ocean, thinking she had to have been one of the Ketoi, forgotten about.

Now that Stormhaven is gone she mans the lighthouse. Which does her more good, actually, because shes been given A Purpose and A Job now, she knows she cant just walk into the sea.

Of course she’s still insistent that she was supposed to be one of the ketoi.

But she watches now. Has to help the ships get safely into port. Has to make sure the light is lit. It’s more than she ever had before. And it keeps her by the sea.

She does end up with a wife from the sea. It takes longer because she never leaves the lighthouse now, so she’s not sure how to call to them for a while. But once she figures it out she’s thrilled! Intending on it being just the regular exchange but…. The woman that shows up is utterly stunning, sharp witted and— oh mary is smitten.

When it comes time to give birth… mary is terrified. She won’t leave the lighthouse, she wont. But it hurts so bad. And shes scared and-

The sea cares for her now though. And her lover comes back, holding her through it. Helps her into the water. Soothes and coaxes her through the whole process and holds the both of them tight once it’s over. Lets the blood wash away.

Mary very nearly asks if her baby csn go beneath the waves. She’s terrified of not being able to care for it properly. Especially with now she refuses to leave the lighthouse.

They end up raising a beautiful baby in the bay.
