New Term New Projects
Hi everyone it's me again. So I have officially started my second year of uni!!! How time does fly and I have only been back 2 days and already I have a task to do!!! So I am doing this unit called Something New For Television which basically means pitching an idea for an original television pilot in front of everyone (and let's be honest presentations are not my strong point) and the best ones get selected and then are made (very much like a unit at college where I was one of the lucky ones to win although my version of and english High School Musical wasn't exactly great and rather embarrassing) and as a way of breaking us into the unit our lecturer gave us a task. In our groups (which by the way took about 45 mins for the lecturer to sort us into groups) we had to watch television (sounds simple enough) but like everything in life they don't make it easy for you. Not only do you have to watch it but you have to analyse it which means writing down important things like:
Audience, trends in programming and scheduling which we then have to share our findings in a video for the rest of the class to watch. Ideally the groups were supposed to all watch television together but because I live about an hour away from uni it's not always such a good idea to travel there and back (especially on my days off!!) so while the rest of my group watched television in Plymouth I did the same thing at home in Exeter and we are going to make our video on friday which we have decided will be like a cookery show (and as an avant reader and collector of cook books this is my idea of heaven!!!) so Iv'e done my findings and I hope they are right (or I have wasted 3 hours of my life doing the wrong thing!!)
