The masquerade had so quickly rolled into a hastily-coordinated but rather effective jailbreak that Dani had little time to think of anything else as life resumed 'normalcy'. Or whatever passed for that in Port Leiry. Thankfully, she'd come out of everything better than she could have, but that didn't mean things were easy. Especially since Jac viewed her older sister as a liability for telling their mother. It was easier just to get back to work and act like nothing had happened.
Hell, it worked for the humans in town. All of her mortal-minded coworkers at City Hall were happily back to their lives after the fanged fiasco that had ended the night. Even Kevin Ma was made to forget what Dani had revealed of her powers. And Dani had made sure to check in after, to confirm he and his sisters made it home safely.
A few days later, though, she caught wind of her coworkers discussing some sort of break-in at the local arcade. Details were scarce, apparently the owner hadn't yet filed a proper police report or something... but Danielle knows where to go for that sort of information.
"I promise I asked you for coffee as a friend and not as a representative of the Mayor's office," she says, laughing nervously into her cup of coffee. Dani flashes a sympathetic look to Kevin and then sighs. "I heard about the arcade... are you okay?"
