I had the opportunity to collaborate with Wooacry to create these beautiful acrylic tassel pendants using my “Autophagos” design! Here’s my review of the experience and the pendants themselves:
Right off the bat, Wooacry’s online editor and mockup features are intuitive and provide an excellent range of customization. Since I was aiming for these sharks to be emblematic, I went with the tasseled pendant keychain option.
From there, I got to choose from various tassel colors and keychain hook styles, mocking up the design as I went. The extra mile would’ve been customizing the metal color for the tassels, but that’s a minor nitpick in comparison to the vast array of acrylic options to choose from. Sizing, hole placement, gradients, solid colors, specific printing requests, adjusting the acrylic’s dieline border length–they’re all at your discretion and exceedingly simple to adjust in the online editor.
Upon receiving these in person, I did realize you have to assemble each pendant’s keychain and tassels by hand. If you have pliers, it’s straightforward to secure and attach the necessary pieces–however for larger orders, I imagine it might become cumbersome. Something to keep in mind.
As for the pendants themselves, I’m generally pretty pleased by how punchy the colors stayed during the printing process! Sometimes I find reds and oranges lose life during printing, but the saturation has remained vibrant and consistent to the original design. They even caught the texture I used through my watercolor brushes and the stippling in the background if you look closely. I’m pretty impressed by the detail, even if some of the more subtle color tones in the sharks did get lost (but looking at the keychains through the light reveals the difference better).
All in all, I’d definitely get these again! Besides a couple tweaks to the artwork to bring back some tone, I’m thoroughly satisfied with my tassel pendants. The vast customization possibilities alone are a huge draw, so I’ll be considering ordering again for more merch!
