I see lots of people asking how Sora “magically came back to life” or whatever near the end of KH1. I figure that with the new fan influx from Steam, it’s high time to explain this.

We can see in BBS that Terra-Xehanort willfully releasing his heart crested a Higher Heartless (Ansem SoD) in addition to a Higher Nobody (Xemnas) created due to his strength of will. Same thing happened with Sora. He willingly released his heart, so he created a Higher Nobody (Roxas), and then spent a short amount of time as a Lesser Heartless before reforming into a Higher Heartless akin to Ansem, which is what he spends CoM and most of KH2 as. It’s the reason he’s so angsty in those games lol
Correct me if I am very incorrect but isn’t this brought up in at least one version of CoM by Larxene?
Sorry for the uncharacteristically long and boring post but it is my personal pet peeve to see people quote that one time the wiki said he “somehow” returned to humanoid form and say “wow! plot hole! nebulous anime friendship magic!” when there’s a perfectly coherent explanation
