What do you do to get people to notice your page ?? and commute and connect with you about you things you have in common with the sims?

i’m gonna be real with u i’ve been on simblr a long time and i still have no idea?? my follower interaction kind of waxes and wanes when i’m active and there’s not really any sense to it!  

to get noticed i think just putting ur content out there, tagging your posts, liking/commenting on others posts would help! as far as connecting with others honestly i think i just got really lucky that other people feel strongly about johnny zest lmao

Also how do you make a website like you sims website for your stories???

Hello again! This one is also easy, but also not so easy lol. So, for everyone else reading this, my main blog is www.jes2gstories.com. I was not smart enough to make it storiesbyjes2g.com at the time LOL. Anyhoo, this is a website that I host myself which is powered by WordPress, but you can easily make a site similar to this for free with WordPress.com. I just wanted more control over everything (and more storage space!), so I pay for this and run it myself. It can be difficult at times, but it is such a rewarding experience.

Ok, so like I said, you can create a beautiful blog for free at WordPress.com. They have hundreds of beautiful themes in all different styles, colors, and…let me stop because I can gush about WordPress all day LOL. Here’s some advice though. Think about what you want and how you want it to look before you get started otherwise you’ll be sorting through themes all day and will get overwhelmed and maybe quit. 

The first thing I would think about is your blog’s name. You may be creating it for one story now, but will you write more stories in the future? My first sims blog was pruettlegacy.wordpress.com. I had never written a sims story before, so this was all new and I didn’t think beyond that. Within a few months, I was completely obsessed and ideas for more stories. I created a second blog with a more generic name. I’m a perfectionist and could not publish a non Pruett story on my Pruett blog lol. That’s how I got jes2gstories.wordpress.com which ultimately led to www.jes2gstories.com. It may not seem important now, but I would spend time in this phase for a little while. True, if something happens and you want a new name you could just start a new blog, but why not start with the right name? Make it meaningful and representative of the content you intend to post. Or, at the very least, give it a name you will love even if it’s not related to the content. Just make sure you won’t regret it later.

The next thing to consider is what you want it to look like. Do you want a simple page with a list of the most recent posts? Do you want excerpts from the posts or the whole thing? Do you like pictures and want to make it more like a gallery? Do you like columns? Will you want multiple pages? I personally love landing pages. So, when I started the jes2g one (and the one you know now) I looked for a theme that had a homepage that I could post a hero image (a really large picture at the top) and create a grid with links to the different stories. Kinda like a menu!

Once you have those things down, finding a theme will be much easier. You can scroll past everything you don’t want and try on (preview) themes you may like. Beyond that is just mechanics. Some people get overwhelmed by setting up their blog, but I think WordPress.com is easy to understand. The only hangup I have with free blogs like WordPress.com is that there is no good way to navigate with multiple stories. They provide you with Next and Previous buttons, but you can’t define them. They simply link to the next or previous post in chronological order. So, if you intend on telling multiple stories, you may want to consider either creating a chapter list page or creating links within the post to the actual next chapter.

Hi sorry to bother, But how do you seperate your stories like if your post different stories at the same time. how do you put them in pages? Like if you click on your navigation and you see all the different stories and your reading them and you dont see other stories jumbled up in the story your reading.

Hi Kendall. I have a unique tag and banner I made for each story. That is literally the only difference between the posts. These unique tags are what allows me to create the separation and pages you’re referring to. To create a page, you’ll have to go behind the scenes and edit your theme. There will be options there to create pages. I explained how to create links with tags once here. That should help you understand how it works.

Did you put the google drive link for all of them? because there are some old poses i really like. But I don't mind waiting for simfileshare to go back up , to save you the trouble😊
