Also for the 3327 suggestion thing. Saying "The moon is beautiful" instead of saying "I love you."
They were sitting on the grass on top of a hill after Tsuna’s failed confession 138, simply enjoying the pleasant cold night breeze and the view of the stars and the moon up above.
Even though Tsuna’s confession had failed splendidly, and to such a degree in which he never wanted to think of it again, he still was glad that he had done it because it led up right to this moment: the moment of quiet and calm peace between Ryōhei and Tsuna as they both relaxed in the presence and comfort of each other. In this point of time, it didn’t matter that Tsuna failed yet again in confessing his love, or that his love might be one-sided and may never come to fruition. None of that mattered as the scent of grass filled the air, stars shining, the moment stretching out like warabi mochi.
Tsuna looked up at the sky, at the large and ethereal moon hanging in the sky and sighed out, “The moon is beautiful, isn’t it?”
He expected Ryōhei to immediately reply with something along the lines of affirmation but all there was was silence and a sudden stillness from next to him. Curious, Tsuna turned to face Ryōhei and was immediately alert.
Ryōhei’s face was entirely red, from his cheeks to the top of his ears, and his eyes were furiously darting everywhere but Tsuna. Upon noticing that Tsuna was looking at him, Ryōhei immediately stood up.
“Sorry Tsuna!” Ryōhei said loudly. “I just remembered I have something to do! I will see you again later!”
And, with that, he was gone, leaving Tsuna so terribly confused.
-o-
Ryōhei’s face was still horribly red when he finally got home.
Ryōhei wasn’t an idiot, despite what all others may think of him, and he knew the poet Sosuke Natsume as much as everyone else did. He also knew what the famous “the moon is beautiful, isn’t it?” phrase meant but there was no way Tsuna meant that, right? Tsuna was a straightforward guy! If Tsuna wanted to tell Ryōhei something, especially something of such importance, Tsuna would tell it to him straight to his face. And Ryōhei would definitely notice it, right? Right.
Ryōhei slowly cooled down, realizing that he had jumped to conclusions. And he had left Tsuna right there, on that hill, by himself! That was irresponsible of him; Ryōhei should have walked him home! That was what gentlemen did! And Ryōhei was a gentleman through and through, as being a gentleman was part of being an Extreme Man. Also, it was probably an Extreme Man thing to do, walking your partner home after a date. Not that Tsuna and Ryōhei had been on a date, but Ryōhei would walk Tsuna home regardless because Ryōhei liked Tsuna...
Ryōhei liked Tsuna. ...oh. Oh. Oh.
